You can't do your option (2), but for (1), you would basically create a new Category, English, with just words and pronunciation.
Then create a new Playlist.  Add the word from that English category, then after that, add the equivalent word from Spanish.  Set playlist to word/media, then it will play the English word first with English pronunciation (no picture will follow cos there is none), then Spanish word with pronunciation, then picture.

finally i am able to read thru this thread, but I have some questions of my own as well,
the most important being the fact I have bought the LR and LM but not activated the licence as I am not using a permenant comp right now which may change again sometime later, so can I install my LM n LR later using those coupons?
and KL, that is great news if there is still an offer where we can use points in order to get the program, as for ppl from our country, not many hold VISA cards and all, and generally may not be rich enough to buy at $100, as our salaries range around $4-600! so I guess if v have the option of earning points and using it to buy the software that would be great.
And also, does this mean we wont be gaining any points for uploading files, slideshows or LR/LM files, UNLESS it is considered PREMIUM QUALITY?
and I am sorry but can someone please once again explain the 6m and 12m bit?????

You don't have to worry about not using/activating your license. You have a license, and you can use that anytime - makes absolutely no difference.

yes, no more points unless it is made Premium.  However, we will be making it easier for people to collaborate and produce content together and to split the points.

You can ignore the 6 months bits.  You will be getting a 12 month curriculum and all its content.  You will also be able to use LR forever.

Hi,
I'm about to buy the LR, but I feel that is not very clear information of this new product.. I feel that everybody is asking questions because the information is not clear and i don't feel they are getting the answers. i really want to get the product but i don;t know if I should buy it now or wait until the new version, but also if now with the new version i feel that i will have to pay for every download then this will  become very expensive.

I think we need to know in a very clear way. how will this new LR program will affect the existing users And the prices for the premium downloads. So users can make up their mind.

I really want to buy the LR but I think that everything has to be more clear so I know what i am actually buying.

It seems pretty clear. Explanations are given, and I think its nice people can ask questions, and the answers are posted here so we can all benefit from additional information. I guess it is not possible to write about every little detail, otherwise that would be pages and pages, and most of us busy parents would not be able to read through those...  

I think this answers your question:


"Existing Users - As mentioned above, all existing users of Little Reader and Little Math will not be affected by this price increase – you will continue to be able to use the software indefinitely.  This same offer will also apply to anyone who purchases Little Reader / Little Math BEFORE the release of the new systems. So that is pretty good deal, and it does come with the curriculum from what I understand ( since this will be a learning system), and it was specified in another post there will be a lot of premium content included in that.

"We are going to separate the online lesson libraries for Little Reader into 2 sections:  Free and Premium.  Premium downloads will include all BrillKids content as well as user-generated content which meet certain quality standards. 

These Premium downloads will require points for download (or in the case of BrillKids content, may also be purchased separately in content sets).   "


So it looks like there will still be a lot of free content and most of user generated content that will become premium eventually will first be available as a free content, which is great also, I think. It gives you more opportunities to have free quality content, or a possibility to get the points to get additional one, then any other educational system I am aware of. 

And ... it is great to be able to ask questions and get answers right here on this forum from the creators of the software, isnt it? This way if you ask specific questions, that concern you, they will be answered. Instead of having to read through pages and pages of information....

I hope you will have all your questions answered and the programs will be a help to you as they are to us. But even if not the programs, the information and experiences you can get from others  on the forums are already worth it.

Let's firstly address this point.  As mentioned before, this is simply not true.  As Skylark already mentioned, please note 3 things:

1. The 12 month course (which all current users will be upgraded to) will already contain A LOT of premium content (many many times what we've released before).  Again, this is effectively free for all current users.

2. There will always be a lot of free content available - all those that are not premium.

3. Even those user-generated ones which eventually become premium, it will be free for quite some time before it actually gets downloaded a number of times before being considered for premium status.

OK one more thing which maybe we haven't mentioned before is that we will offer a "Free BrillKids Premium Download(s) of the Month", which should be self-explanatory.

I  still don't know how much the price will increase, how much will cost to get one premium download. Also, it will help to know if the product will have more material in spanish.
 
Is true that we should not have to read all the comments and questions users post to understand about the new and improved LR.

My comments are not with bad intentions, i'm just trying to help so we all understand better the change. I  still think there should be only one page that explains everything more clear. Going through all these pages of questions and comments probably got me confused. I work for an internet company. We know that is very important to have a page (faq's) that explain well how the service works or we will get so many emails asking the same questions. I hope you don;t take wrong my feedback. I'm just trying to help.

I love the forum i have found many interesting information here. I will continue visit the forum and recommend  it to other moms even if i don't get the LR.

Is it going to made of already downloadable files, both from ppt library and LR library or is it going to be smth completely new we have never seen on this website?

I am asking this because I got my LR recently and now I spend loads

Most of the new content will be brand new. Some will be similar to what is currently available, though they are now all packaged differently and comes with much more media (3 pronunciation voices, 2 picture audio's, plus sometimes videos too).

Little Math will not be having premium content any time soon, so don't worry about that.  For Little Reader, only BrillKids content will be removed and replaced with updated content and classified as premium.  But this will not affect you, because your free upgrade will mean that you'll be getting much much more than what's currently available.

None of the current user-generated content will be placed into premium on day 1.  We will be issuing guidelines to tell people what must be done to the files to qualify for being put into premium.

Far, far from it. 

Like I already said, because of this new system, you will have access to MUCH MUCH more free BrillKids premium content than ever before, and for no additional cost for you (as a current user).  All current user-generated content will remain accessible for free until they are improved and classified as premium.  And even new high-quality user-generated content which eventually make it to premium will first be downloadable for free, so all you have to do is to keep your eyes open, which you can do easily using our email updates.

There will be A LOT of premium content that will come with your 12 month course (which you'll be getting for free).  Those will not need to be paid for.

For other premium content, then yes, they will need to be paid for by points.  Though do remember that for user-generated content, there will be some time when they will be in the free section before being classified as premium when you can download them for free.
