Little Reader Semester 2 Content - Now Available for Download!

For those of you who have the Little Reader 12-Month Course or are on the Lifetime Plan, we're very proud to announce that the Little Reader Semester 2 Curriculum is now available for download in your Account Management page!

IMPORTANT: TO ENSURE SMOOTH IMPORTING OF CONTENT, Please make sure you upgrade to the latest version of Little Reader (1.5.255) which was uploaded on 11th December.

Here are the steps on how to download your 2nd Semester Curriculum:

1. Make sure you have Little Reader v1.5.255 or above - you may check by doing the following:
          - Open Little Reader
          - On the upper left corner, click on the text link "Help"
          - Click on "About BrillKids Little Reader"

If you don't have the latest version, please download and install it from your Account Management Pages.

2. Open your existing Little Reader.  Go to the Playback Screen. Press on the COURSES button.

3. Click on the Display drop-down menu and make sure you have the item entitled English (US) Semester 2.
If you do not have this item, please click on the "Help" menu, then "Check for course updates".  After a few seconds it will probably say "no course updates".  Wait a few more seconds, and check the drop-down again.

4. Once you are sure that you have the English (US) Semester 2 in the Display drop-down menu, proceed to your Account Management page: Account Management – Software Page.

5. Go directly to Step 3 - you may do this by clicking on the circular icon labeled "3 - CONTENT" and you will find the Semester 2 curriculum content there available for you to download.

6. Download all the content and open them (one at a time) once you have finished downloading them.

7. They will automatically be imported to your Little Reader!

After you have successfully imported all of your Semester 2 content, your library should now have:

     •   Pattern Phonics: 65 categories (6-11 words per category)
     •   Eng Course: 29 categories + titles category (6-12 words per category)
     •   Eng Stories: 5 Simple Sentences + 10 Stories (8-10 pages per story, 8-9 sentences per category for Simple Sentences)

Kindly note that downloading the content may take a while, because of all the media files attached to the presentations. You may also check if you have the available disk space to accommodate the media files, as each file size is written beside the download buttons.

If you have a slower internet connection, then we would suggest you download the curriculum content in PARTS, instead of as one single file.

Please note that you must have your Semester 1 content present and working properly on Little Reader, otherwise some of the lessons in Semester 2 will not work properly.

We've uploaded a new LR build v1.5.152 which should fix the import problems experienced by many before (see here).  Again, sorry about that!.

If you are unable to import Semester 2 content successfully, please make sure you upgrade to the most recent build from your Account Management!

Hi KL,

I upgraded to V1.5.152 and also importing 5 Category Files(parts 1-5) successfully. However, I still got the "import canceled by user" message" when I tried to import the "English Course Semester 2 Curriculum (DOWNLOAD FIRST) (0.4MB)" file. So the curriculum list under "Courses" is still missing for me.

For all who are still having problems, can you please create a Diagnostic report using the new build?

- from Windows START menu
-> All Programs
-> BrillKids (folder)
-> Little Reader (folder)
-> find "Diagnostic" item. 

It will generate a file called "Little_Reader_2009_...zip" in your C:\...\My Documents\BrillKids\Tools folder. Please attach that here or PM to me.

Update:

We're getting to the bottom of the problem, and should have a new build soon.

The previous builds should work for some of you who have later versions of v1.5, but those who were still using older versions (like v1.5.210) would likely experience problems with the importing.

Will get an update out asap. thanks again for your patience, everyone!

I have version1.5.246, but still have problem accessing contents.  Download was successful..saved in my document library (of the PC), but not seen in the content of LR.

I am just terribly dissappointed with Semester 1. It never worked well. I downloaded it three times, and most of the pictures were missing every single time... Haven't had much time to see what is going on or what IS the problem... but I really liked the more simple, user friendly, and economic.... Brillkids... Hope this time, this semester works!!!!

I desperately need smt 2...but it never works, now it become worse, i can't play the whole files included my files, Dunno what happen until now...anyone also had this experience???
