I was 34. That worried me a bit as, as with most people I was worried that something would go wrong. During the delivery I kept blacking out and it felt like I was just floating above everyone. Nothing was wrong, but because of that I'm reluctant to go through it all again. It was such a strange feeling. Now that Koen is here, I feel being a bit older works for me. I seem to let things not bother me as much, don't worry about the little things I can't change or the mess. For me, if I was younger I don't think I would be as easy going. Everyone tells me how relaxed I am with him and I think that comes from being older. Only problem is that I feel like I'm going to be the old mum in the playground or at the school yard. But as I said earlier, can't do anything about that, so move on and forget about it

I'm 23 now, and I was 21 when my son was born. I certainly wasn't expecting to have a child that early, but we had a lot more than the normal 21 year old has (good, steady jobs, advanced degrees, and a home).

I always said I wouldn't have my first child until 27, but I'm glad God had other plans for my life.

I was 27, I had everything planned out. Had a nice job, house, car. I was all set.

means majority people get the first child late twenties or early 30s?

i am 32 and had my 1st child half a year ago. Not having another one anymore as raising a good kid is not easy

I'm still 29! but the joy will end in August... I had my first bay when I was 27, I turned 28 two months after she was born.

We'll start trying again in about 6 months

Wow, I might be the youngest

I had my son 9 days after my 18th birthday.

But I haven't let my age become an obstacle when it comes to parenting. I was blessed enough to have a teacher tell me about Baby Signing and that led me on to wanting to give my son every chance I can of bettering himself

. Espero tener otro pronto. Me gustan mucho los niños y todo lo que tenga que ver con su formacion. Es algo maravilloso que Dios nos ha concedido.

I was 28 and my wife 26, and eleven days later from Matheo's birth i celebrated my birthday number 29 (present age) with the most precious gift ever, my baby

Dear All,

It is interesting reading all the posts at the various ages everyone had their children. And I am impressed by the triumph over adversities overcome during challenging pregnancies that some shared. I was 35 when expecting my first (and only pregnancy to date) of Sarah & Salma, and they were born when I was 36. They are currently 19 months old and keep me busy busy. They are my only children, while my husband previously had five older children. He is more relaxed and patient about certain aspects of parenting than I am because of his experience. We are uncertain if we will have anymore, although sometimes I wish I could have one more - a boy if were blessed with another.
