One of K's favorite things to drink is a yogurt smoothie.  I don't have an exact recipe, but that is the beauty of it.  I can use use whatever fruit is in the fridge that needs to be used up.  I add a little yogurt, some fresh fruit & a small amount of milk - I use organic ingrediants where ever possible.  The great thing about a smoothie is you can hide all kinds of extra ingrediants that baby might otherwise refuse.  I add in vitamins, things like wheat germ - even fish oil sometimes!

hi there !

How about this recipe? My daughter loves it, one of her fav.

Vegetable Fritters
Ingredients:
200g sweet potato, peeled
200g pumpkin, peeled
1 carrot, peeled
1 zucchini
1 potato, peeled
½ onion
1 cup plain flour
3 eggs, lightly beaten
¼ cup olive oil
1 tsp reduced salt chicken stock powder (optional)
1 tsp crushed garlic

Method:
1. Place all vegetables through a food processor grater, or alternatively, hand grate
2. Combine vegetables with remaining ingredients in a large bowl, mix well
3. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Spray with olive oil spray and drop teaspoonfuls of mixture into pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes each side or until golden

Tips:
• Recommended for ages 12months+
• Extra fritters can be frozen for later use and re-heated when required
• Other vegetables may be used, depending upon baby’s preference or what you have available.
• A yoghurt or tomato based dipping sauce can be served with the fritters

They make a lot too, so there's heaps to freeze for meals when you think they might not like what you're eating. Hope to get some great ideas soon.

Hi All,
Here is  a recepie which my Daughter enjoys the most.

Vegetable Mix Flour Dosa,
Ing:
1 cupGram flour
1/4 Cup rice flour
1/4 Cup wheat flour.
Salt to taste.
Grated Onion 2table Spoon
Grated Tomatoe 2tbs Spoon
Grated Carrots 2tbs Spoon
Butter Milk 1/4 Cup.
Mix all the above ingredients and make the batter. Add water if required. The batter should be consistent neither Too thin nor too thick.
Heat the roti making pan properly. Grease the hot pan by adding little oil. Spraed the batter evenly on the pan.
Heat light pink on both the sides.
Serve it with fresh youghurt, or Jam or CHeese Spread.
It makes two medium sized Dosa.
Try it

Divaseven - That recipe looks yummy! I always have trouble with that sort of thing sticking to the pan though.  Got any hints?

Hi all I am fairly new to the boards but one of my passions is baby food. My little guy is my fourth and final baby and he is the only one I braved making homemade baby food for. He loves it, he won't even touch the jarred stuff!  tongue

I made this recipe the other day and my baby (9 mo) and 5 yr old loved it. My 10 and 8 yr old wouldn't touch it, but they are very anti veggie  Sad

Broccoli + Cheddar Nuggets

1 16oz frozen broccoli
   cooked, drained and chopped
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
or you could use baby cereal
1.5 Cups shredded cheddar cheese
3 large eggs or 5 yolks

Heat oven to 375. Lightly coat a baking sheet w/ olive oil or non-stick spray. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Shape mixture into nuggets. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Turn over after the first 15 minutes. Serve warm.

Possible additions
Garlic powder
Pepper
Basil & oregano

You could also try substituting fruit or veggie puree for the eggs.

Enjoy!

Oh, I thought of another thing my baby really enjoyed.

I made some chicken in the crockpot with spaghetti sauce and some parmesan cheese. I also cooked some noodle and added it at the end. I just scooped up everything (a small portion) and put it in my beaba baby food cooker and pureed it until it was just a bit chunky and he loved it!

It was so easy!

Hi there everyone!

Kmum, when I make those fritters I use olive oil cooking spray on the pan. I rarely have any probs with it sticking to the frying pan.
I got another basic recipe that my daughter enjoy as a snack.

Cheese Muffins

2 cups grated cheese
1 1/2 cups self raising flour
1/2 tsp salt
pinch cayenne pepper
1 large egg
1 cup milk

Heat oven to 210 degrees celcius.

Measure the grated cheese, flour, salt and pepper into a large bowl. Mix lightly with your fingertips to combine.

In another large bowl beat the egg and milk until evenly combined. Sprinkle the flour and cheese mixture over the liquids, then fold the two mixtures taking care not to overmix. Spoon mixture into muffin tray which has been sprayed with non-stick spray.

Bake for about 12mins until muffins spring back when pressed in the middle and are golden brown.

Today I made chicken roll with breast and in it I put some spinac because he hates veg . It came a little bit greenish so he refused it. IF I put some wine when Iam cooking the chicken he smeels it and will not take it.not even marinate it.When i do it steamed only he likes it.

My little princess is rather picky about food. It is so hard to please her. But the thing she loves is chicken wings in honey marinade. I just take chicken wings, salt them a bit, spice with curry and coat them with honey. If honey is crystalized, I just warm it in a microwave. Marinate the wings for half an hour and bake in the oven (for 25 -30 minutes). then I take out all the bones and cut meat in small pieces for my daughter and enjoy it myself.  smile

I make a yummy soup/broth for all the family, great with bread for dipping.

Chopped mixed vegies (frozen or fresh)
Red lentils
Chicken pieces
Canned chopped tomatoes
Rice or pasta or barley
Flavourings (chicken stock, french onion soup mix, gravy mix, tomato paste, garlic)

As long as it tastes tomatoey and chickeny, that's what the aim is. Make sure for baby that all chicken bones are out!!!

Boil it all up in water for an hour or an hour and a half, cooking the chicken first if frozen. It's really easy, just whack it all in the pot and cook... puree for really young eater...freeze in portions...
