Suggestions on blog sites

I've always love diaries and thought of starting a blog where I could share experiences on upbringing and parenting.. including early education.  The thing is, I don't know of any good blog sites where I can post pictures, video scripts, links which are "dumb" friendly blogger. 

I've tried having one but somehow stupidity is always in the way and end up getting lazy and not doing it anyway.  Could you recommend a good site where I can do it easily so I can have the energy to update it as often as I want to?

Blogspot and Wordpress are both great blogging sites which let users create their own blogs easily. Both also come with massive numbers of free templates that users can use to design their blogs, so that's a big plus.
