Well I had never read the poem before... but I have been putting my little guy in water for some time now - it so totally works! 

When he is having a bit of strop, (we are so independent at 2 yrs 1 m) it's often "just" a case of getting down on his level and it doesn't take much to make him giggle & defuse the situation, usually it's just a not unreasonable cry for attention because mummy has been busy for longer than she expected. We can briefly talk about why his behaviour is inappropriate & then move on to having lots of fun.. which right now is a box of "Span-eesh" verb flashcards with odd cartoon drawings which he loves! not complaining!

- this is ususally the issue in our house too. Isn't it interesting how there is (almost) never inappropriate behaviour when they feel they are getting enough attention?

well I seem to be doing pretty well so far..but I have never been to the movies in my PJs and I planted jelly beans instead of licorice in the garden. (beans will grow right?  )
I think I need new pyjamas!
