hi everyone!!! we went to go swimming..  and my daughter really love the pool, she spent 7 hours swimming, playing.. well the sun was much that made her face peel and body  tan,pls. give me advise what kind of lotion  or cream will  i give my 3 1/2 year old daughter.

you can buy sun screen for kids at pharmacies. We don"t really use bec my kids wear full arena bathers. It covers from neck, arms to thighs.

Any baby bottom barrier cream brand to recommend?

Hi Althea,

Here's a site with the sunscreen I use on Marina. I won't use the chemical based sunscreens - I don't believe they're safe. Look for one that uses zinc or titanium dioxide - they form a natural barrier between your skin and the harmful UVA, B and C rays of the sun. This one is expensive, but a little goes a long way.

Here's the bum cream I use, rainmatrix. I've been pretty lucky with Marina - I don't know if the cloth diapers have helped, but she's only had bad problems when she's been teething. Anyway, this stuff works a treat and is not petroleum based. I also use the bum spray often - first change in the morning and to help clean up along with warm water after poops.

I think altheas problem is not on protecting her daughters skin from sun... her problem is what she will apply on her daughters skin to make it smooth and white again... (",) any whitening lotion you know that are safe for babies?

im using avent for my son but i can not see any difference... thats an honest to goodness reality... and its expensive her in the philippines...

I don't have any experience with "whitening" products, but would be leery of them myself. The skin will heal itself in time if it's protected from further sun damage, that includes ay tanning that you may not want.

I have made a recipe using jojoba oil and honey for after sun bathing, not before. Jojoba oil is a safe all natural oil for all skin types that protects the skin, the all natural honey is for healing. You can add a little all natural beeswax to make the lotion stiff. Beeswax that is all natural is dark in color, not white or pale yellow, but a dark creamy yellow. I have used this for many people. I have also used a little vegetable glycerin in it to make a soap for cleansing after a hard day in the sand and sun. Of course this is only a suggestion its up to you if you use it or not. I think Burts Bee products may sale a similar product. I make my products for my natural health clients, and my friends and family. Remember when looking for 'all natural' products, don't buy the ones that contain alcohol or mineral oil. And if you use petroleum products think about what you are putting on your skin? My children can not use any petroleum products it eats their skin off. Look up what petroleum is, you might be amazed.

There are Whitening product to get rid of a tan? Where are you from? I have never heard of this.

My son tans easily and never burns. Of course I always rub him down with children's sun screen before going out in the son and reapply often if we are at the pool or beach.

If he ever was to burn I would use pure Aloe on his skin or an Aloe Gel. This removes the sting and helps sped up healing. Banana Boat Brand makes a spray on gel that does not require you rub it in. It cools the skin and removes the sting because it contains Aloe. I  have used this on myself and my husband.

I agree aloe does work, as long as it is pure aloe there are some items on the market that isn't pure. The above suggestion does not whiten skin it only heals and protects the skin from previous damage. Are you asking me where I am from or who? i am a Natural Helath Consultant and have studied and grown herbs, and their uses for over 20 years.

Sorry, I didn't quote it the first time. I was asking where wilnie was from since they were talking about the whitening lotion. I see now where they said Philippines.

Child skin is very soft and clean. You should use perfect body lotion and baby powder to protect skin from dust and pollution. Child skin gets rushes rapidly so you should use effective diaper for his skin. You baby should be fresh any time.

It is important to take care of children's skin in summer season because the day of summer is too hot so it is good for swimming but while swimming children has to avoid get direct sunlight. You can use any branded sunscreen lotion which is available in the market with some tips on usage.

Hello my name is Midhat and I am a first time mother of a five month old daughter. Whenever I seeany topic or article related to child's skin care I just click on it because I am very concerned about my daughters skin condition she was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis when she was only a month old. I don't use normal lotions or creams normally and when her condition is aggravated I have to use steroid based creams recommended by her doc. It's just that I can't even take her out  in daytime sunlight has really bad affect on her skin she turns red and her face swells I am not sure if I cud apply any sun block my doc told me earlier not to take her out in sunlight it just happened once I had to take her for her regular checkup but after that I never dared to.
