Was looking at some of the posts and saw the one on skin care.  My son has terrible ezcema!  Anyone has a secret that works!!!

Honestly, eczema is one of those things that doesn't easily clear up. I didn't want to put hydrocortizone cream on Gabriel, but I eventually had to break down and do it. Trust me, I tried everything I could, but to no avail. I even read that some lotions will irritate it more. I tried some like Aveno baby and others, but they did not help. Once I put the hydrocortizone on it, it cleared right up. It made me wish I would have just done it sooner so Gabriel wouldn't have been itching so much.

Hydrocortisone works well, you can also mix it in equal parts with aquaphor for extra moisturizing.  You might also try washing with Noxema.  It originally stood for knocks out eczema.  We have had good results when DS's eczema flares.

Andrew has raw spots everywhere right now.  It is so bad!  And he wakes up so much during the night scratching.  I have been afraid to put the steroid creams.  I had not heard about the noxema.  I will try that!

I only had to put the hydocortozone on a couple of times before it cleared up. I didn't want to use it either, but it's the only thing that helped. I felt bad for not using it sooner. Just keep it as an option because it will help a lot!

First use some real mild soap (best bets are natural soaps like dr. bronner's, nature's baby organics, burt's baby bee wash)

Some swear by these lotions:
1. Aveeno Soothing Relief Baby Lotion (w/o fragrance)
2. Burt's Baby Bee Lotion
3. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

its been my problem till now, i use these creams because i had no choice.  it disappear then suddenly comes again. my baby has atopic dermatitis, she got it through genes. she's allergic to different kinds of food, since i'm breastfeeding her.  it became our problem.  i don't know how to stop nursing her. i  feel guilty everytime she cries.  she doesn't want to eat sometimes.  i try to detoxify and drink cleansing drink. but it didnt work.

That's a sad thing! it really makes breast-feeding and skin-care more difficult. If it's atopic dermatitis, then I doubt any of the lotions give lasting relief. I too have the same kind of eczema for almost 8 years. There's really not much you can do but to limit your food intake to "non-allergen" foods.

If this is the case and you can't go without the allergy inducing foods, you MAY want to consider formula-feeding so that your baby won't suffer eczema anymore. It's a very tough decision to make and my heart goes out to you.

you could try pine sap salve which is a simple mixture of beeswax and pine sap. it has worked wonders on almost every skin condition that our family has had to deal with.

BC has been diagnosed with eczema by a paediatric allergy specialist and he recommended we use Advanten cream when the breakout is severe and hydrocortisone for other breakouts. Then to slather him in dermeze daily to keep the skin moist. He also suggests we add QV bath oil to his bath and no soap. It's also very important to keep them cool as overheating makes the eczema worse.
