Interesting Blogs from Forum Members

I have to recognize that I have seen many interesting Blogs develop by members of this Forum.
I apology for my ignorance but besides the satisfaction of showing other parents important tips or the advances with your kid, is there any reason for maintaining a blog? Do you receive any monetary incentive from publicity or something.

 I can see that it is a lot of work that has to be done for it to be good.
Nonetheless I have to congratulate you for such a great job.

While most people I know have there own blogs just for the fun of it there are several ways to receive compensation.
1-Google Ad Words- this is a google app and when your readers chick the words you get a small kick-back
2- Kontera- is a company that places links in your blogs and you get paid the same way as Google Ad words
3- If you get a large enough readership companies will come to you and request you to try out their products for free and write about them.
4- There are other companies that will host your blogs and pay you per post.

The longer your blog has been around and the more followers you have the better chance you have to recieve some compensation. For most people this is not a lot of money so it is not the primary motivation for blogging and instead is just a little icing on the cake.

I am not sure if there are other methods out there to get paid. If anyone knows of any please post them!

I see, but we have to recognize that it is a lot of work that has to go into it. I do not know how they habe the time for this. Maybe the satisfaction is so great that gives them the strength to continue. I is like writing a diary for everyone to read.
I hardly have the time between my work, being with my grandson 2 or 3 days a week and keep me uptadet with what is said in this forum.
Congrat for everyone that keeps up with their blog.

I am a Mummy blogger and am certainly not getting paid anything for my blog. I do it as a sort of pay back to all of the other mums out there who blog and allow me the privelage of reading about their lives! The other reason is that it keeps me accountable to myself for what we're doing in our early learning program and helps to keep me on track! It is also somewhat of a 'diary' for us and as the blog continues to grow, I look forward to reading back over it in six months time to see where we were and how far we come! Hmmm, yes, I guess that is why I blog! Check it out at earlylearningdownunder.blogspot.com

And who knows, it would be great to get to try out some amazing early learning products and share our experiences with others! This may be a nice perk one day...!

i too think it's amazing how people find the time to keep up with a blog. i guess that it's the same as having a diary, still it just seems too time consuming. in any case, aussie mom, you are right, it is very interesting to read other people's blogs. it can be very helpful to get some ideas from other people too. so thanks, and keep up the good work.

Well Liza you are right! Since I posted that in November I haven't blogged at all! Oh dear. I guess now that I'm back at work part time I just can't keep it up. I wish that I could because it would be such a wonderful diary but as they get older they sleep less and there is much less time!!
