what do you do for fun?

What does everyone else do for fun? Do you get time to yourself away from your kids? I try to go out once a month with my friends. I think it is good to have some time to do what you want. It helps you to relax and be better mother.

I do everything with my son. I rarely get any time away from him, and I don't mind it one bit.

I just had my baby, so I can't go out yet. I suspect it will be a while before I can have any fun outside of getting spit up on and changing diapers.

I'm in a local MOPS group. Twice a month we take our kids and they all go in rooms by age to play games and do crafts. While they're being babysat, the moms eat a delicious meal and play games (like BUNCO). This is a FABULOUS time for me!!

I'm a nerd and I spend my time researching homeschooling and things like the Doman method, scrapbooking, reading and when my son is at his grandparents for a sleepover from time to time, I like going on dates with my hubby

I'm lucky because my mom lives about three hours away and we go visit her to the "big city" about three times a month, so when we are in town she helps us watch Valerie so we can have a nice dinner (I love to try new restaurants), watch a movie or spend some time with friends. I love hanging out with other people.

I second waterdreamer - I seem to spend most of my days parenting, teaching, and researching.

I am lucky to get out twice a week to a bootcamp. I am almost back to my prepregnancy weight.  Just in time - we are trying for a second.

I would like to become/start a part of a group of families that get together for potluck and boardgames or cards.  I enjoy simple evening with friends, but all my close friends live many hours away.

Shopping is the thing for me.  Once in a while, I just leave th kids with my husband and go shopping.  I feel lot better after I come back. I start working out after seeing all the skinny new trends in the market.

My husband and I like watching movies during weekends when neither of us have to work. I guess I'm like other girls too, I like shopping or even just walking around looking at things in shops just to see what's new. To blow off some steam or stress, I also like going to the gym; but I'm not like most others who are into yoga and just running - for me, I like to box. I've been on and off boxing for the past few years, and it works as a great stress reliever for me because it requires so much concentration, that my mind literally just lets go of everything else for 55 minutes.

i normally dont like watching movies but now with hubby and E i do watch some cartoon movies. i dont like to spend any time away from E so i took her everywhere with me accept for late night rides with hubby and some dinners.

i feel so happy to be with E i rarely can give time for friends. i too love shopping and doing research on education for E. Evening  walks with E what we enjoy most

very rarely we go for walks and shopping with zaku.,usually once a week i go out with hubby. Thats after zaku sleeps or he would stay with grandma. We go for rides or shopping. very rarely we go for dinners.Other than this I always stay with him.
If i visit my friends i take him with me.

I spend all my time with laikko n once a month i go for shopping. bt most of the days i go for a beach with laikko. If im at office hubby will take his there. he likes to swing and play with sand. sewing is my free time job.

Khatty, you're from Sask right?  Maybe that's the connection between you, me and waterdreamer!  The weather combined with the flat, never ending "excitement" of the plains have turned us all into research nerds!  I, too, jump on the computer as soon as I have a free moment.  So much to learn!  And so many cool ideas as to what to do with toddlers!

Also, up until last summer I was a garage sale virgin...now I'd say I'm a bit "experienced"...yep.  I've been around.  I think I may be becoming addicted!  I love getting deals!  Love, love, love it!  Yesterday I just got a full pkg plus of Right Start Math, reg $240 (with shipping) for $75!!! 

So, when I'm not on the computer looking at BrillKids, or someone's early childhood blog, I'm on "Garage Sale Junkie".  Try it...you'll like it!

Hey its free cycle weekend in Winnipeg. Everybody puts the stuff they dont want on their front lawn and you can go and take what you like. Kizudo, you and hubby should drive down for the day!

We WERE in town this morning and stumbled upon this!  Unfortunately our sched. didn't allow for scavenging, but we did pick up a train table on the only street we "allowed" ourselves on!  Score!
