I am making a few German PowerPoints and I was wondering if there is anyone who is a native German speaker who would be able to add voice to them? I can read them to my daughter but I know that my German pronunciation is not perfect. I would love some help with this.

Please let me know if you find someone. For months we looked for people that could help us with materials in German and we didn't have any luck. There was one father that was married to a girl from Switzerland, but they just had their baby, so as most of as know, no time.
Have you found good materials in German?

Joha - I ordered the German Little PIM DVDs which just arrived today. We are part way through the first DVD and enjoying it. I use a few of the sites with songs that various people posted in the thread that you started. I also have quite a few German books that I read to her myself - my German is not perfect pronounciation. If I don't find anyone who can do the voice soon, then my long term plan is to get my father to do the German voice for me - he is German, but is currently in South Africa so it is going to be a while before I can get him to do it.

I didn't know they had just released LP is German. That is great! We have them in Mandarin and Valerie really likes them. I have been using Muzzy and a couple of the websites from the thread too. I'll keep trying....

Isapabi - I would love to do English voice for you in exchange for German voice. I have a little microphone, I think they are relatively cheap to purchase. I got mine with Rosetta Stone software, so not sure where the best place is to purchase one from.

You can try to mess around with your computers recording settings. A lot of times you can get it to sound a lot better. I too have a cheap mic that was included with software, and I think my recordings sound decent.

Thanks! Looks like a simple "amplifying" that I found in the "record settings" did the trick! Will send the two people interested the test recording, please let me know by private message whether the quaility is okay!
Cheers ISA

Nhockaday: since you are reading this, I need to ask you a general administrator question please. Since end of November I am no longer receiving my daily newsletter or bulletin or whatever you call it. Has it been stopped? I hope not - it is such an easy way to check interesting posts at the end of the day for me.
Thanks for answering on this unrelated question in advance, ISA

Thanks. I just put "brillkids evr" in the search option and nothing came up. Where exactly can I find it? Also, can you give me a name of a sound editor to look up please? Thanks ISA

EVR is easy voice recorder, available with LR. You should see a button for it on the top of LR when it is opened. You can do some basic editing like noise removal and volume control with it. I personally like NCH wavepad. It is easy to learn and has a lot of functions that I use. You should be able to find a free trial on their site. Just google it.

Isa- I am definitely interested in exchanging material with you and I have already e-mailed you at the address listed above. The more help the better:)
For those interested, I contacted a lady named Matina who created german cds that she is selling to help support her family. She is currently adding sound to the two cds and the first will be done in a few weeks. I believe she took the doman approach and started at single words and progressed to sentences. I will double check to make sure, but PM if you are interested and I will let you know when it comes out. I also invited her to the site, so maybe if she gets a chance we will see her around.
Take Care and I hope this helps!! Bye
