The response we've had to this project has been absolutely amazing!!  We are currently 33 very enthusiastic people working on this project, and the team is still growing.  This leaves us with a choice of either expanding this project by adding things to it that was not part of the original plan, or finishing early and possibly starting on a next project.

Things that could be added to the current country course project are voice recordings for all facts and photo-eye-play videos for the national anthems.

Future projects that we are talking about are a Country Course 2, exactly what we are doing now, but with 40 new countries (possibly revisiting some important countries from the first course), a Chemistry Course, Science or the Human Body, but this is for the team to decide.

The only countries still up for grabs are Lebanon, Algeria, Madagascar and Turkey.  New members might be asked to do a different job from my original post, still involving sourcing for images and adding it to Little Reader category files.  In the case of us expanding the course, we will need people to do voice recording (native US or British English speakers) and/or help in creating photo-eye-play video's.  I would also like getting somebody to proof read the categories to check for language and spelling errors.

If you feel like you would love this course but you just don't have time right now to help out, you will be able to contribute to future project to gain access to this Country Course.

Photo-eye-play is alternating colour flashcards rhythmically flashed along with a song or rhyme. 

What we're planning for the anthem video's are:
Black-white flashing country outlines,
Colour flashing flags, inverting the colours on the flags,
Iconic country photo images in between the photo-eye-play flashing sections.

But this is not decided yet, we still have to take a vote and see how the majority of the team feels about it.

I would love to join!  I love proofreading and editing, so that would be my choice of assignments, but I'll do whatever you need (native US English speaker if it's voice recording).  And I really hope this team continues to make lots of LR EK courses.  Save me tons of work!

This is just a brief announcement to state that our team of 41 members will now be adding voice recording to the 800 fact slides and Photo-eye-play video's for all the 40 countries of our Country Course.

I would like to suggest a new curriculum though
I would LOVE a preschool curriculum! LR made for 4 year olds to learn all they need to know for school.
Letter names, phonics, sight words, 5 senses, music, numbers, shapes, Tallis, counting, skip counting, colours, sight words, body parts, insects, size, time, opposites, dinosaurs.....all the usual kindergarten themes. It would be great as an extension on the first course as well as an option for parents who start LR with older kids. Plus I can use it at work.

Good suggestion!  If you could have a more specific outline your course idea (dinosaurs?), we could seriously consider it.  We're planning Music Encyclopedic Knowledge (borrowing from Little Musician's images and mp3's), a Math course with Logic, Geometry and basic Algebra, and a Country course all for next year.  Lots of the stuff you ask for is in the Library, you could always download and filter through what's available, then just build a course with that for use in the mean time.  I know you said once that you use a lot of the Library's stuff, have you been building your own courses too?

We'll be glad if you could join us later, I've mentioned before that you could "buy" this country course by contributing to a later course, if you choose to do so.

Our math course might include skip counting, the course content have not yet been finalized.

MamaofWill explained it perfectly, just to add. Please feel free to put in your suggestions, we can always use new and fresh ideas. However it does take time to plan, research and organize every new course and we (being realistic) are taking on one project at a time 

As MamaofWill mentioned, two of the courses that will be in works after First Geography EK course is done would be Music EK ( which will serve as an Encyclopedic Knowledge Extension to Little Musician) and Logic, Basic Math (Algebra and Geometry) and Mental Math course ( which would serve as an extension to Little Math)

Music course would likely include EK sections on prominent musicians, composers, musical instruments, orchestra, music styles and history, ballets, operas and music compositions, it would also include EK on music theory.

Logic and Math would likely include basic algebra, geometry, logic and reasoning, mental math, abacus, etc.

Both of those are still in planning stages, so you can always leave comments and suggestions. Once we are closer to making an outline of the courses, we can take all the comments and suggestions and discuss them together!

Once again, thank you all! It is exciting to work together as a team and it definitely helping all of us to benefit from awesome possibilities of EK courses.
