here's an attempt at a story that highlights rhyming and early word endings.

Title: The New Toy by lawrencelb

Slide 1:  Here is a boy.  He wants a toy.

Image: boy standing; "thought bubble" above his head filled
with a ball, a top, and some blocks

Slide 2: Where can he go?  He wants to know.

Image:  boy standing; "thought bubble" now filled with various
                    buildings

Slide 3: You can get a toy from a shop.  It is too far to hop.

Image: mom standing next to boy, mom's "talking bubble" filled
                   with "from a shop"

Slide 4: He rides a train.  It starts to rain.

Image: boy and mom riding a train; rain is falling from the sky

Slide 5: The boy gets to the shop.  He buys a new top.

Image: boy inside shop, reaching for the top

Slide 6: The rain is done – out comes the sun!  He has lots of fun.

Image: boy is outside and is playing with his top; it is sunny

Title: Just Perfect

Kitty wants to find a perfect home.

 This home is too big.
 This home is too small.

 This home is too dark.
 This home is too bright.

 This home is too hot.
 This home is too cold.

This home is purr-fect inside.

This story is one for parents to read repeatedly, until child catches on firstly through memorization. It's a fun rhyming tongue-twisting story.  It’s an introduction to conservation of hurt, endangered Australian animals, and mentions Australian towns and occupations. Most slides are self-explanatory, being a picture of a person in work clothes rescuing an injured animal, or an animal with a landmark like Ayer’s Rock (Uluru) or a map of the state of the town mentioned in the background. True Blue means fair dinkum dinky di really truly Aussie. They are all Real Aussie town names and real animals and occupations!!!

Pretty [insert your little princess's name *hereby referred to as "#"] and Her Mermaid Princess by Philo

Once upon a time and not very far way was a pretty little girl named #.

Everyone else loved her and called her Pretty #.

One day, after finishing her school assignments, Pretty # took her allowance to the toy store.

There were so many toys to choose from.

Pretty # picked the mermaid princess toy and paid eight dollars.

She loved her mermaid princess toy very much.

She took her mermaid princess toy whenever she would go, and showed it all of her favorite places.

One day, as Pretty # took her mermaid princess toy to the beach, something strange started to happen.

Her mermaid princess toy started talking to her.

"I am a real mermaid princess, but a bad witch made me into a toy."

I could turn turn into a real princess again by my dolphin friends."

Pretty # was kind and gentle. She couldn't bear to see the mermaid princess suffer.

She had an idea.

She called out "dolphins" to the sea as loudly as she could.

Suddenly, six magical dolphins appeared and started to swim towards the shore.

Altogether they said to Pretty  # :

"Thank you for rescuing our mermaid princess!"

They took the mermaid princess toy back into their fins and chanted something magical to the it.

Then came a loud noise, "bang!"

The mermaid princess toy turned into a beautiful life-sized mermaid princess with long flowing blond hair and a dazzling crown made of seashells.

"Thank you, Pretty #, for turning me back into a real mermaid princess!

Now please allow me to take you to my palace so my father, the King of mermen and mermaids, could give you a handsome reward."

The King of mermen and maids presented Pretty # with a silverish pink crown for saving his daughter, saying: "You are now also a princess of the sea."

After the crowning ceremony, the mermen and mermaids threw a big party in honor of their new princess--Princess Pretty #.

It was one of the most wonderful days for Pretty #--or shall we now call her--Princess Pretty #.

None of us would ever forget that magical day.

The End.

The Tale of the Snail and the Whale. by Nicole

Slide1:
May I regale you with a tale
Of a wee little snail and a great big whale?

Image1:Snail playing in sperm whale's spout water. Both smiling.

Slide 2 and 3
On the tail of the whale,
The snail set sail,
On a quest-that’s a search-
For the Golden Quail.

Image 2: Snail on tail of whale. Image3: Picture of Golden quail, big question mark, treasure map behind.

Slide 4, 5, 6, 7:
From Granada to Canada,
Ireland to Iceland,
England to Finland,
And to far away New Zealand.

Image 4:Map of line showing distance between Granada and Canada. Image 5: Same for Ireland to Iceland
Image 6:Same for England to Finland.  Image 7: Finland to New Zealand. (Show features of the countries, a 3D map)

Slide 8:
They traveled far and wide,
With a big star as their guide.
They traveled wide and far
Following that shining star.

Image 8:Whale with fin(flipper) up sheilding eyes looking into distance, with big star lighting the way.

Slide 9 and 10:
Their search ended up in vain,
For when they got to Spain,
They were drenched with flooding rain.
So they headed right back home again.

Image 9 and 10: Images of bullfighters and flamenco dancers, map of spain. Whale and snail near shore with heavy rain, choppy sea.

Slide11 and 12:
They thought bad weather had doomed them to fail,
Those icy cold winds that were blowing a gale,
And the water funnel tornado hot on their trail-
Hence Whale returned home with Snail on her tail.

Image 11: hurricane force winds blowing past glaciers. Image 12:A water spout tornado following them out to sea, them looking scared looking back over their shoulders trying to get away from it.

Slide 13:
But as there’s no such thing as a Golden Quail-
Right from the start they were destined to fail!
There was no point blaming high winds and rain,
The quest for the Quail was always in vain.

Image 13:Whale and snail happily at home with family, where they should have stayed all along!!

Mum was rather sad.
