Hi waterdreamer,

I dont know how much LR can handle.
May be KL/Lappy can clarify this.

I have seen uploaded EK files with 10 facts for each picture.
Assuming this we can start collecting the facts.

Lets start with this.

Collect 10 pic * 10 facts/pic   (its at the max 10 facts)

OK that sounds good. So ill start collection stuff for that and when we get a proper board we can post them there. I'm so excited!!

I will give Geography a shot. I am thinking since this is an international board, I will start with continents and oceans rather than the 50 states.

This is a great idea, and I wish I had time but...I don't.  I haven't made a presentation in a long time (OK, I made ONE recently).  Work again has kept me very busy.  Not even time to finish my essay.  Don't let me nonparticipation stop you.  I might be able to comment on work, if you think that would help, but don't count on me to be editor/moderator/approver.  I do have one suggestion.  If there are going to be ten facts, would it be possible to find ten pictures, with the pictures (hopefully) well illustrating the facts?

It would be impossible to make it downloadable into LR with 10 pics and 10 facts. I have made categories that are huge and they only had a few facts and pics per slide. I've had to cut some down before. Now, if they made it import like the curriculum, it could be as large as we want.

I have a set with 8 categories of EK cards.
Each of these catecories include the numer of cards:
12 mammals
10 birds
08 insects
08 fruit
12 vegetables
12 musical instruments
06 Transportation
04 Camelids

At the back I have the facts in spanish but can be translated. Most of them have 20 facts but some less.
I do not know if they are to simple but at least is a start. We can have ideas around the world as typicla customs, instruments etc as Camelids that are from South America.
In this EK cards we can see that the image is alone, with no background or anything that may distract the viewer.
I can give this input for other to just look for the figure and for recording.

I am thinking of doing Organs of the human body. I have not created any EK cards before and this will be my first attempt.
I may need some guidance and will let know if i need any help once we start.

In the LR files there are Organs of Human Body EK files you can take it as reference and add new cards.

@waterdreamer,
We will be happy if you can be moderator. If you are stuck anywhere,
we can discuss it here on strategies to follow.  I will also be happy to help you.

Like we can follow this protocol :
Each time when you reply to any message on the EK board, give the list of Volunteers and Categories.
and who is working on what. And you can keep a track, when each time someone announces that
they will be working on particular category.

There will be 2 types of volunteers
1. Who will collect the materials  ( as much as possible.)
   And we have all our forum members to give their suggestions on the material
2.Who will create the EK Files ( including recordings) : I can create EK files. just not sure about the recording.

While collecting materials, for each topic, we will be collecting 10 picts(.jpg) (+/- 3) (clear picts) like mentioned
by 2010BEBES no other distracting elements. and for each pics 10 facts ( this will be max 10 facts)

Some deadlines lets keep sunday as deadline. So by :
      15th Aug' - collect materials. put the material for discussion on board.
                (Should we have to have 1 thread per topic or 1 thread per week? )
@ KL/nhockaday :

      29th Aug' - Will decide the final material.
      5th Sept -- Will have the first set of EK files

As mentioned earlier volunteers can start collecting new topics while the other topics
are on board for discussions.

Also one can take up more than one topic per week top work on.

I would say, pick a topic you are most comfortable doing.

This could get messy on the forum without a proper board. In my perfect world I'd like to see Community EK build board. Each set of Bits being it's own topic. Then everyone can comment and make suggestions to THAT set. KL is this something we can set up in the near future?

Actually I had another idea. Once we have a board, when you pick What set of bits you want to do, open a topic announcing this is what you are doing. That way we don't have 3 people collection information on cows or something. Then you can post your pics/facts and if your not comfort recording the voices ask for help.
