I just earned mine by answer posts and asking questions.

I made power point presentations and uploaded them to the download section.

I posted videos that I found of interest to share with others.

I invited friends to join.

I would share some of mine but I just earned my Little Reader free and don't have any to send. (you have to have 5000 before you can send some to another person).

I would but I dont have enough points yet either My husband will only let me buy little reader with a 60% discount.

I keep going to buy it thinking i can afford it but when the price gets converted from US$ to AUS$ it is too expensive

I will have to keep posting and hope i can get enough...will be sad if i miss out.

You have to have atleast 10 posts before you can give karma.
I also posted a reply on Nikolett's appeal for points.  I myself am saving pts. for a bigger d/c for LR & LM before the increase.  I am still waiting for the moderator's approval if it's ok to give karma each time I log in, to you and Nikolett & that it would only be until the 20th of this month.

For the mean time, here's karma to you..

Hope we can get the program at a bigger discount.

Everyone needs to get points the way everyone else has. You need to post meaningful replies to topics, start your own topics, and try to make some downloads to share. I don't mean to be rude, but there are a lot of people who give a good effort to earning points, not expecting to get them for doing nothing. I have shared, and will gladly share with those who I know are active in the forums and have made an effort to earn as much as they can. Many people have earned 10,000 points in less than a month. Besides, everyone will need points soon when the new system is implemented.

A 20% discount is only 1000 points. You can earn that easily by just replying to some topics.

This is a great point. I have seen a couple of people write thank you post in different topics, one after the other (this happens specially with websites posts) or putting in individual posts things that could have been posted in one post giving a link. I understand everyoneone wants to get points for the discounts, but there are people that work hard to get their points with good info and spending a lot of time doing presentations and reasearch. (I can tell by the quality of the presentation). I'm just lazy and like to see all the great info people have found  Just like nhockaday, I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but I think most people would agree

I wonder if admin do in fact withdraw points for every 'thank you' post, and in cases when someone creates 5 or 6 new posts in a day, or opens a new post for all the videos they saw on the gallery...

I've been active for around 2 months now and 'only' have less than 3000 points, so no free LR for me. Ah well....

I think there is not an issue with creating several posts in a day as long as it is good, helpful information.

I am one of those people who earned a 100% discount within a month. Create some power point files they add points quickly.

I think I will try to get my older boy to convert my LR files to PowerPoints for me.   A lot more people can get them, is that why they add points faster?

We do monitor "thank you" posts. We do give warnings if we see someone excessively only posting them. We have no problem with people saying thanks, but if that's the only thing you ever post, it becomes a problem.

Nikolett, You can definitely earn a lot of points effortlessly if you make good quality LR files. That is really the easiest way to earn points if you already have LR.
