You can make those wonderful moving images by using an "animated GIF software"
Here is one I used before:
http://www.blumentals.net/egifan/There's a trial period of 20 gifs you can make, but you will need to pay for it to remove the watermark.
It is pretty easy to use, all you have to do is drag in the photos/images you want to show and you can choose different transition effects.
You can also choose the timing of how long you want to show each image frame for.
*Note: the more transitions you use, the bigger the file would be and I think there is a limit of how big a file you may have.
I'll be looking forward to see some more moving avatars!
