Forum Game: Getting to Know You

^ Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King (very good, but not well known, and not like most of his writings) and An Instance of the Fingerpost by Ian Pears (a historical fiction that tells of a murder from, I believe, 4 different people's viewpoints. It keeps you guessing till the end!)

v How many brothers and sisters do you have?

^ 2 sisters and a brother.  I'm the second child, and it made me feel a little sandwiched when I was young, but it's nice having a houseful of people with great humor. 

> I can't seem to live without music.  I feel like I wake up everyday with my own personal soundtrack playing in the background. 

V If you had a super power, what would it be? (super moms and dads to the rescue!)

^ hmmm that's a great one Lappy  The most useful would be to read people's minds I guess ...but I'd also LOVE to fly !!

V Do you usually eat/skip breakfast?

^ I try my best not to skip breakfast, and I usually have a bowl of oatmeal in the morning as soon as I come in for work.    Nothing like a heart healthy way to start your day!

> Out of all the musical instruments I can play, I like playing the guitar the most.

V If you were a color, what color would you be?

^ I think I would be orange!  I always like having fun, and making everyday fun for my baby.

> The internet made it so much easy to get information on pregnancy and parenthood - I don't know what I would have done without it. 

V How many languages do you speak?

^ I speak english, russian, italian, swedish and bulgarian...

v How did you learn to become a parent?

^I think you learn to be a parent on the job.  There is nothing you can do to know exactly what will happen.  A perfect example is the differences between the way I parent and the way my sister parents.  She has her kids on a very percise schedule while I let my little one do things whenever he wants.  Her kids are older and I was impressed with how well she had them on the schedule, but when I had my little one, a schedule just didn't seem to work for me, even though I was convinced I would do the same thing she had and put him on a schedule.
But I did read lots and lots of books!

v What is your favorite place to vacation?

^ Any place is a vacation for me with my hubby and my kid
> I am very dedicated mommy and will do everything for my kid
v what are your milestones being parent

^ That I don't have a nanny for our son when most of the parents here in the city have one or two for their kids, and that I am a hands-on and breastfeeding Mom

> I resigned from my work abroad just so we can have our baby now.

v What's the most valuable lesson that you learned from your parents?

- From My Dad I learnt about being faithful to your partner no matter what, and from my  Mum that it's never to late in life to start again.

-I am learning to play harmonica from YouTube lessons!

What is your 'Precious Jewel' of advice you can share about being a parent? I have two...'This too shall pass.' and 'Live every day like it's your first together'

I'm not a parent yet, but I would strive to be an example for my child in every way, whatever We do as parents, our children catch !

I have a harmonica too! A friend, who is an expert, gave it to me and tried to teach me twinkle twinkle little star LOL

What is your dream for your child?

^ I hope my two sons will have a happy life. I would do anything for both of them to show them how to catch their happiness in everyday life and to make their dreams come true.

v If tomorrow is a day, that will repeat to the end of the world, what whould you do that special day?

^ I would have every member of my family, and all my brother's and sister's families be at Disneyland having fun, and not have anyone die or be sad. LOL  none have ever been to disneyland!

v  What would you want everyone to remember about you, years after you have passed?

^ I guess that I was a good parent who did her best to help her children be smart, loving, caring individuals.

> I was in labor for 28 hours in the hospital

v What is one item you could not live without?

^ My toothbrush. For some reason I am an overly keen teeth cleaner. 

> I was in labour (one of those words we spell differently here) for 20 minutes with my second child. He was born in the hallway upstairs in our home. My Hubby (and my lifesaver too) tells everyone that he delivered his son. I tell them he just caught him!

v What is your baby or small child's favourite book?
