Just wanted to stop by and recommend a book I'm enjoying. It's called Blueprint for a Brighter Child, by Brandon Sparkman and Ann Carmichael, published by McGraw-Hill in 1973. ISBN 0-07-059891-6.
It's one of the smarter and more thoughtful early childhood education books I've encountered in a while. The authors worked at a preschool in Tuscumbia, Alabama and the book is drawn in part of their experience there. He was the director and she was the parent coordinator. It seems to combine the personal touch, warmth and practicality of Joan Beck's How to Raise a Brighter Child, with some of the programmatic specificity of Siegfried Engelmann's Give Your Child a Superior Mind.
Cheers.
