3 month old infant stimulation

I was wondering if anyone could provide some guidance as to what type of activities/stimulation I should be providing my 3 month old baby?

Hi Joha,

Thank you very much for all of those references.

Do you know if there is any particular order in which to show your baby the flashcards?  ie Colours/Shapes before Animals etc?

At your baby's age, I'll suggest you show your baby the black and white flash cards first. This ones are not meant to be flash, but shown. After that you can move onto the ones that have red also.

The order in which you want to show your baby the flash cards depend on what method you want to use or if you don't want to follow a method at all. Based on my personal experience (learning frommy mistakes  ), I'll recommend to follow a mehotd. I started showing random categories, but it got a little bit out of control . I just stopped and started all over following Doman's method. If you can it would be great if you get "How to teach your baby to read" by Glenn Doman. I reaally recommend you read these two posts. They will give you a lot of light about the process.  The first link actually has the list of words recommended in the book.

One more thing, if you have the time right now, I'll highly recommend to start preparing your material now, while you show your baby the infant stimulation cards. I have never been able to catch up

Hopefully you find the book. It is very good. Regarding the infant stimulation cards, to be honest with you I'm not sure how long you are supposed to show them, but I would say follow your baby's lead. You do not want to bored your baby. If you are changing them, I would use them until you have some other materials ready to show him/her, unless you can tell your baby is not interested in them anymore. Again, this is my opion. Someone else may suggest something different.

i would like to share a video of me & my baby @ Gymboree.. Maybe you can follow the activities with your baby. It;s very good to stimulate your baby eyes & hand coordination. I have a baby blog where i explain about the activities but t in Malay Language. hehhe...

BTW, this video was taken when i took my baby @ Gymboree class - Level 1. Qarissa is 4 months old then. (now she's 11 months). Hope it helps u & i bet u will be excited & happy to do the activities whenever u want no time limit,anywhere,everywhere..

check out babycenter.com. It's another great resource to use along with this site. If you go to the site, sign up for an account, they'll ask your Baby's age and then send you weekly updated on your Baby's development and also age appropriate activities you can do. I have a three month old also and she loves these activities and also the Brill Kids infant flash cards. hope this helps!

Math cards, reading, music, encyclopedic knowledge, all those static activities. I regret I did't know enough about early learning when my child was 3 months old. Now it's so hard to keep her in front of the computer, watching dots ( and may not be effective). And if I bring out math cards, she runs away. When she was 3 months old, she could not even crawl, so she'd have no choice, but to study
