I'd love to hear from anyone who is sending his/her child to Heguru. How does it compare to Shichida? My kids previously attended Shichida and Tweedle Wink classes, but we have no experience of Heguru. They told me over the phone that the kids are grouped according to their year of birth - a child born at the start of the year can differ vastly in development to one born at the end of the year, in the early years.

I'd appreciate any comments fr those who have attended/are attending Heguru classes.

Never even heard of it apart from when it was first mentioned here:

Where did you come across it?

Hi Kolt,

My twins go to Shichida and Tweedlewink too. I've decided to pull them out of Tweedlewink and place them with heguru starting October. I went for a trial lesson at Heguru several weeks ago and am impressed with the the content of the lesson and the approach adopted by the Sensei. ( this is very subjective, some parents/ children may prefer a gentler approach like Tweedlewink).

Heguru is very similar to Shichida, in my opinion, concentrating on developing the whole brain. The content of the lesson, like Shichida, includes Photographic memory exercises using flash cards, Mandala, video flash; Memory train exercise using large picture cards on the floor, art and music appreciation by listening to recorded story/ music while sensei flashes various art pieces, ESP games/ exercise similar to Shichida etc..i might neglect to mention some of the activities as my son fussed a bit and took my attention away here and there. Overall I'm pleased and I like the fact that there is a small nursery room where we could change our toddlers when necessary, there is a playroom too.

Fees are charged monthly so compared to Shichida it is a little bit more expensive.

I'm just wondering why you send your twins to Heguru now instead to continue in SM as the fees in Heguru is more expensive? Heard it is located in Midvalley, isn't it? At which floor then?

HI Jean,

We're still with Shichida, I pulled my son out of Shichida since July and put him in Tweedlewink to try " the gentler approach" as my son is very active and wouldnt sit down to participate in class. I thought if Shichida " the more intense approach" doesnt suit him, Tweedlewink might. I was wrong. For one whole term he just run around in class, sometimes crying if we make him sit down.

My daughter still goes to Shichida as usual but I also put her in Tweedlewink as they opened a class for my son to suit the timing I wanted so I felt bad and decided to put my daughter in too. Since my son doesnt like Tweedlewink, so I thought of trying Heguru. Once again they are opening a class for my son to suit the timing I wanted so I'm putting my daughter there too. One other reason for doing that is because my kids are twins, they're used to having each other's company all the time so when one is not in the class, the other will keep asking for him/her.

What I've plan to do later is to gauge how much they like Heguru compared to Shichida and make a decision to stop the other.

Yes Heguru is in Mid Valley so the traffic condition can be very very bad. If you want to visit them for a trial class, head towards the shopping mall valet parking/ drop off area and cross the street to the low rise signature office buildings. Heguru is located on level 5 on top of the Mamak restaurant, if I remember correctly. There is a chicken rice shop on the ground floor.

HI Jean,

Thank you for your kind words. I'll certainly share information and progress with you from time to time. smile

Do you send your baby to any enrichment centre? Do you do home practice? Where are you located? Do you work?

I've been thinking of setting up a playgroup with like-minded mothers with children of similar age group with my twins so our children have more opportunities to socialise and interact, share learning materials, mothers could exchange opnions and support one another. So far I've only asked one Shichida mummy from Cheras, her baby is 15 months old.

Dear VitoriaC,

My daughter is attending SM in Centre Point and going to starts her 3rd term this coming Oct. I'm also sending her to playgroup in a church near my house in SS19 ,Subang Jaya every Wednesday.

As for home practise, I do flash cards only big grin ... Have tried the rest eg ESP, linking memory, none of these she looks interested, so i would only do it here and there when feel she is comfortable with LOL

I'm a full time mummy... So happy to meet a like-minded mummy like you here too! Let's me ask around who else is interested to join us, but where  and when will it be most likely?

May be I pm you my phone number so we could discuss it further more??

Cheers!!!

Hi,i have come across to the comment that you put over here about your son keep running here and there in the class.Well, actually for his stage,he needs to move in order to learn. The most important thing is,you as a parents need to learn to accept him as HIM.Each child has their own way to learn and since your case here,it is normal to have him running around to just LEARN.It is not because he want to,he HAVE to.Whatever he does in the class, you need to encourage him and to support him.One thing is,your son is able to sense the vibration from the people in the class. He may feel whatever feeling that you have on that day. Angry/dissatisfied/comparing/Guilt/Sarcasm/ and etc.....and that's why your son will acted the different way that you might not like it in the class. Anyway, you a very concerned mum with a big heart.I am sure that if you put more patience to him and begin to accept him as him, your son will open his heart to you.Don't worry, your son will be able to calm down when he is ready.Trust him!Besides,he absorbs more information by hearing and seeing in the class. Please never underestimate your son too because he is still learning.

I think other than the method that used, the most important is the 'sensei' who teach. No matter how best is the method, without a good & experienced sensei, the kids cant go far...  smile

Hi Victoria C,
I wanted to ask you about Shichida , Tweedlewink and Hegura.
Where are the classes and how much is it per month or yearly however the payment plan is and where are they?
What is the difference in them and how long are the classes?
Please put some light for me . Thanks you so much for your time. smile

Hello,

TweedleWink will be opening a centre owned and managed by themselves in Damansara Perdana in Nov/Dec. There is also another centre in Puchong opening at the same time.

A centre in Taman Tun KL used to offer TweedleWink but they have since changed name. The programme has also become more "rojak" in a sense they incorporate things from different system and mixed it all up to come up with the new programme. There are also many parents leaving the centre to join other programme. I wouldn't recommend anyone to join this centre as I had very bad experiences with the principal. She deliberately hides the truth and I seriously doubt her business decision and management skill. But I have to give her credit for being a good talker. She's a classic example of NATO.

As for the fee, Shichida and Heguru charge about RM400 per month (excl annual/registration/misc fee). It is a 60-75 min class once a week. The centre I mentioned above charges around the same also although it is not a real right brain programme.

Hope the info helps.
