Little Math.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close!

Hello. Mum here again with another software dilemma. Sorry. 

Someone has to keep you on your toes. 

Since Saturday I have been unable to open LM. I could have been editing a lesson when my computer crashed and had to restart.

A Windows message box now always appears when the computer is started and it also appears at the end of attempts to reinstall LM. The message says:

“Little Math.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem…………….”

Could you please let me know what I can do to rectify this problem.

I have attached the LM diagnostic report. (Please note, your message below the "Attach" field is a bit confusing, it reads "Each attachment needs to be less than: 0KB(0.00MB)" Just not sure about the zero size limit.  )

Hello Mum,

Can you try doing  turning the BrillKids Startup Agent off -- to do this, go to the notification area in your task bar (right side, beside the date/time text) and find the BrillKids butterfly icon. Right-click on it and in the small menu that pops up, un-check the item "Start with Windows." This should get rid of the Windows message box that's been appearing at startup and when re-installing LM.

This might not solve the problem completely, and for this we'll need more information. Did you install something new to your computer before the first time LM stopped working?

If you didn't install anything new before this happened, kindly try either of these 2 things and see if it helps:

1. Repair Little Math

• From your START Menu, open your Control Panel
• Go to "Add or Remove Programs"
• Find and select "BrillKids Little Math" from the list of programs
• Click on the "Remove" button (an InstallShield Wizard will open)
• Choose "Repair" and click on the "Next >" button (and also in the next screen)
• Once the Repair is complete, click on "Finish" and try opening LM again

2. Uninstall and then re-install Little Math

• From your START Menu, open your Control Panel
• Go to "Add or Remove Programs"
• Find and select "BrillKids Little Math" from the list of programs
• Click on the "Remove" button (an InstallShield Wizard will open)
• Choose "Remove" and click on the "Next >" button (and also in the next screens)
• After uninstalling LM, try installing it again (make sure to install the latest version, which you may download from your Account page)

Let me know how this works for you

G’day Kezia,

I turned off the BrillKids Startup Agent and repaired LM. This has not worked. I still received the windows message box.

I turned off the BrillKids Startup Agent, uninstalled LM, restarted the computer (please note, the Add/Remove Programs window is not closing down after removing LM), redownloaded LM from Account Management and reinstalled LM. This has not worked either. I still received the windows message box.

I haven’t installed anything new lately. All that I recall is a regular update for either Wndows XP, Java or Flash.
