Hi Caseysg,
By "columns," do you mean the ones labelled Courses, Numbers, and Math? If these are what you are referring to, you can start off simply by playing lessons from "Courses."
The Courses section is where you'll find the premade curriculum that came with your purchase, with lessons already set up for you for each day -- just play all lessons you see under the "Day" you're in, and that's it. You'll notice that every daily lesson is divided into two "Sessions," which you may choose to play one after the other in the morning, afternoon, or evening, or play one session in separate parts of the day.
The Numbers and Math sections contain individual lessons on quantity (numbers) and equations (math), which are already incorporated in the curriculum (courses). Depending on your child's progress or on his mood for the day, you are free to play any lesson from those sections to review certain parts of the day's lessons, or as a sort of "reward" for doing well or if he simply wants more at the end of the lesson.
