Hi there, have you tried using customized icons? It just might be that your children simply want to see something else on screen instead of the icons that come with Little Math.
Perhaps if they do have a favorite object or character, you can try creating icon sets with pictures of that object or character and use the Override function to quickly make all your lessons use your new icon set during the lesson. If you like, you can even use pictures of family members' faces and that may be interesting enough!
Aside from using new icons, it may also help to record your own voice so your child will hear your voice during the lesson
