Just played the first lesson of Little Math to my 7 month old and he got scared and cried by the sound reading out numbers, so I had to turn it off.

I was wondering if the volume is an essential to learning with Little Math, (at least in the beginning when learning quantity)? Do you think I should try to see if he gets comfortable with the sound feature, or play it to him without sound for now?

What do you folks think?

You can turn the volume down, but its so important for your baby to hear what the numbers are. Shichida says the gateway to the brain is actually the ears.

Hi, me again  LOL

You can have a little footnote one that shows you the quantity in the bottom of the screen (in very small text.)

I use to put the sound off and read the numbers to my boy, because I was teaching him in Afrikaans and didn't have time to do voice recordings.

What a great idea!!! I will try turning the volume down but it may work even better if I read it out to him.

Just in case you struggle to find it, you can put subtitles on by first putting "Override ON" then change override settings (the gears button) go to "Display & Sound"  then "Subtitles" put Current on and check the box, then save the settings.
