Hi Elnora,
kids at her age tend to like learning maths a bit differently. Little Math is for younger ages (well as far as I have experience). You can try teaching her with more of a Montessori approach. For example: have pretty beads or buttons etc (BUT same color all of them!!)and a box with 10 compartments (you can glue together match boxes). Show her 1 as one of the beads, and put it into the first compartment. Pick 2, and show them together as 2 and place them and so on.
Number rods also work well to teach amounts. Have a rod for 1, twice the length is 2 and so on, I cut mine from flower rods sold at the DIY store (well, actually I smiled at the guy there and he cut them for me
)
If you have them cut as 1= 10 cm, 2=20 cm and have her carry them from one place to the other holding by the ends - will teach her not only amounts but measurements too. it's really cool, and so simple.
If you like the idea, we can discuss more. Let me know how it goes.
