Very easy to get little ones interested in Little Math - can we lock keyboard?

Well I was afraid Colin wouldn't be interested, he didn't care much for red dots. But he loves it!  I would like to have option to lock keyboard except for escape and arrow keys while we are playing. His little hands are very busy!

That function is on the PLAY panel to the right of the PLAY button.

You have to check the AUTO-FORWARD checkbox first, then check the ESC Key Only box.

Same way you do it with LR, except now it's one of the 'master' controls and not tied to a preset.

Locking the keybaord is a real bonus for the busy little hands.  Now I just need to hide the mouse.

Know what you mean about the mouse!!!  My son has discovered that if he clicks on the ones he doesn't like so much it takes him to the next.  Naughty little imp!!!

ha ha my two youngest always compete for the mouse as well, my keyboard is rolled under the desk

Yes, I have been doing the math program for my little one for quite sometime. What I have noticed is that after sometime they get interested in the numbers and less on the keyboard. Ofcourse you should get excited about the dots too!

I would recommend getting a wireless mouse and hiding it under the desk while you click on it.

btw, if you set it to auto-forward and check the "ESC key only" box, then the mouse wont' work either.

      , I have one, and Sive just looks under the desk!!!  If I say no then she tries to throw herself off my lap!!   She is def. getting to the terrible twos

cannot see what you r talking about on my screen . i just have play bottun in te middle and the autoforward on the left

I know the locking the keyboard and mouse is an good option, i love that too.

Infact there are times, I would not like to use the "AutoFoward" option and mannually browse thru the next slide. The reason being is below
1. At times, the slides move too slow based on the size of the audio files, if i turn off the pronounciation or audio, i feel the Little Reader/Math navigates faster
2. Second reason, I would like to play it manually is because, there are times my child would take her eyes off the screen and hence if the autoforward option i have no control to navigate it too previous picture,

Hence there are times I would like to have control on the keyboard but I would love to lock all the keys accept the right and left keys to navigate forward and backward, so that my child cannot press any keys.
Could this option been implemented for Little Reader/Math.. This would be really great.....

Bella, next to the Autoforward button is a "cog-wheel" button to the right. That is the "settings" button. You can control the keyboard lock options from there.

Judy, that's a great idea (karma!). Will have it implemented some time.
