LMus - I'm convinced :)

We have been using the trial version and much to my surprise my 17 month old called out Do, Re and Mi when the respective notes were shown on the staff. Totally took me by surprise as I didnt expect any recognition for at least a couple of months. Not sure if it is the colour or the position, or a combo, but how awesome still working on the pitch - she doesnt sing them, she says them but I'm very impressed with the software

Today my 4 year old took music score she never seen before ( and we have not done much if any piano playing till now, I was not sure she was ready and did not want to force it) from Sounds of Music and slowly played Do, a deer, a female deer 

It was color coded and large print as I was preparing it for starting beginner piano instructions for her.

So far all our music training was LMs and listening to lots of great classical music!

We started Little Musician when my daughter was around 17 months old and already 7 months down the track I can see a lot of it is has been going in eg she is better at guessing the right note than I am and she enjoys it and asks for it.
 
Recently I added the colourful notes to her bedroom wall and I often hear her at nap time reading them "Do, Re, Mi,..." It puts a smile on my face.

I love hearing about everyone's successes!  Yep, it's great software.  I sing with it too, and I think that helps with my kid's willingness to sing.  Except for my 5-year-old, who usually won't do it unless I bribe him.     He's the one that needs it most too.  My two and 4-year-olds love singing with it, and last night my 10-month-old actually sang a note on pitch!  I was really excited.

Kiwi mum, your bedroom wall note display is genius!  So cute, and a great constant reminder.  I love how you can move the notes around to change the display.  You could even do little melody excerpts to change it up now and again.  Seriously awesome. 
(PS, call me OCD, but the Re and Do are backwards.)

re and do were only like that for one day before I noticed, thanks tho. Music is not my strong point, I'm learning as I go also.

We are also trying out coloured toys also, Ill give anything a go.
