Hi Babymum,
We apologize for missing your post!
Please find our answers to your questions below:
1. Sound problems for recordings
From what you described it seems that the last part of your recordings get cut off when you play them back -- did you notice if this also happens to lessons from your Little Reader curriculum?
If you are only experiencing this problem in your own recordings, I suggest that you try adding a bit of silence at the end of your recordings (you can add at least 1/2 second silence) especially if you have edited your recordings in such a way that that there is little (or no) silence at the end.
To illustrate (I used a series of dots to represent the silences), if your recording is like ". A pair of socks ." please try editing it to add silence, like ". A pair of socks . . ."
Otherwise, if this happens to most of the audio files (even the ones from the curriculum), then there may be audio codec errors in your computer. For this, try using the Audio Diagnostic Tool and see if it helps:
- From your Start menu, go to All Programs
- Open the "BrillKids" folder
- Click on the "Support Tools" item [alternatively, you may find this in Little Reader's Support > Support Tools screen]
- In the Support Tools window, go to "Sound Problems?" and run the Audio Diagnostic Tool
- Once the tool has finished, you may play a sample audio or go back to your BrillKids software to check if the problem was fixed
- Click on IT WORKS! if your sound problem was fixed, and if not, click on PROBLEM NOT FIXED to continue making system adjustments
If you are still having sound playback problems after the Audio Diagnostic Tool has finished doing all possible adjustments, please let us know. We also request that you attach a Diagnostic Report to your reply so we can troubleshoot further. For instructions on how to create a Diagnostic Report, you may refer to this article:
http://support.brillkids.com/index.php/article/get-tech-support-little-reader-22. What to do after creating personalized words/categories
Once you have saved your work, it will remain in your Little Reader -- the only instances when your personal lessons will disappear is if you delete your category (or individual words) and remove these from "Trash," if you do a "Repair" of Little Reader and choose to restore the default content, or if you uninstall Little Reader completely.
If you would like to share your work with other members, you need to export your category first using the Export function (go to Tools > Import/Export content), and once you've saved your category as a *.cat file, you may upload your file in the forum's Little Reader library.
For more information about the Export function and how you can upload your files, please refer to the Little Reader manual by going to the Support > Manual screen or by following this link:
http://support.brillkids.com/little-reader-manual.php (you will find the details about these in the "How to Use the Import/Export Screen" section)
I hope this helps! If the problem doesn't get fixed you may simply reply here with your Diagnostic Report.
