Hi Ayesha!
Sorry, but at the moment, you can only specify colors (or the 2 split colors) for an entire category or playlist. It's not possible to specify the color only for a specific word - for example, if your category is set to use blue and green for split colors and you want one word to be in pink, LR doesn't have that kind of setting.
About your second issue, you can simply use split colors for that.
First, make sure your sentences already have the slashes ('/') inserted so that the word you want to highlight is isolated from the rest of the sentence.
For example: - "Jack be /nimble/" (to highlight "nimble") - "Jack be /quick/" (to highlight "quick")
Next, edit your category's playback settings:
1. In the Edit Playback Settings window, go to the Advanced tab.
2. On the Word Slide section (left side of window), check the box for "Split Colors."
3. For the Split Colors option, click the dropdown menu and select "Custom." Notice the 2 squares beside the dropdown will change to red and blue colors.
4. Click on the left square and select black from the color picker.
5. Click on the right square and select pink from the color picker.
6. Click SAVE and your category's word list should automatically display the colors you selected (i.e., the word list is a preview of how the sentences in your category will be displayed during the actual lesson)
The color selections mentioned in Steps 4 to 5 will work if the word you want to highlight is located in the middle or end of every sentence (the word you isolated with slashes will be shown in pink color). In case the word you want to highlight is at the very beginning of your sentences, just switch the colors for the two squares - select pink for the left square, then select black for the right square.
I hope this helps!
