i had a big download problem

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share my experience when I tried to download the fre trial into my computer. First of all, I've been doing a lot research in which program between "your baby can read " and this one for me in order to buy it for my 3 yeard old son. I already checked youtube videos and here at the website how good seems to teach kids to read. Well, I proceeded to download the free trial to try it of course, well it gave me a lot of problems to be compatible with my computer software. I tried and finally installed it, but when I was ready to show the words to my son " NO SOUND", perfect! Another problem!!! I didn't have NOT sound how so ever, another software problem..you what?! I decided to uninstall it, well to make this short, my computer didn't find the file in order "to delete it from the hard disc, you don't have no idea how overhelmed and stressful it was..I was so excited but I didn't work for me...my husband wants to buy "your baby can read" but for some reason I like this one, but I couldn't give it a try to prove that it could be better than the other competitor, but let's see what we decide now...but I still use the free download flash cards and activity sheet that by the way my son did AMAZING WELL...I hope I can try it again or thru Iphone app..thanks

I am so sorry to hear about your trouble downloading the free trial.

I am a little confused as to why your computer is not showing the program since you have downloaded and opened LR.  Did you check in the control panel under programs?  From there you can choose program and features to change or uninstall programs from a provided list.

I hope that you are able to fix the sound on the program and do not have to uninstall LR. 
That is so awesome your son is doing so great with the resources you downloaded!   

If the link I provided does not fix your problem please click on the help link and submit an email to customer service.  They will help you fix the issue within a day or so.  They have always been a great help to me and I never had to wait too long. 

I am not sure if you are aware that ybcr recently ran into some financial issues and they are no longer selling their product.  You can find the program on websites such as amazon but the price has gone up. I started with LR and did not buy ybcr until my son started reading whole words.  Which ended up being a review from what he had already learned with LR.  I do feel that the your baby can discover program has been a wonderful addition.  You will also find that you can customize and create your own lessons or stories with LR.  There are also hundreds of lessons made by parents here on this forum ready for you to import for free. 

I know exactly how you feel when a program on the computer does not work correctly it can be so frustrating 

But I can assure you once this minor problem is fixed your son will have so much fun learning with LR

   thank you so much for reply me. After i tried so many differents options to fix the Audio issue, IT DID NOT WORK!. I was frustrated with all this thru the website. I wanted to try the free trial so bad and the sound on my computer's speaker didn"t work AT ALL. According with the Sound device test, it was working correctly. but when i wanted to use it with this program, completely FAILED. YOU KNOW WHAT    i gave up... I uninstalled it once Again and i guess i might has to order it thru Amazon.com..Im trying here at home a lot different tecniques and games to teach my son how to read. He is not in school yet, and for all good videos reviews about this software i wanted give a try but sadly it didn't work FOR ME...yes i read the YUBCR is out of bussiness, so sad..but anyway i know there are other programs out there...thanks for all the help and i will keep in touch

You can request free tech support! I found that BrillKids technical support is one of the most efficient ones out there, you will get the answer VERY fast and if something still does not work they can direct you step by step! I always was satisfied with it!

And yes, like Mela Bala mentioned you can still find Your Baby Can Read, Your Child Can Read, Your Baby Can Discover and Your Child Can Discover on Amazon. I view these excellent programs not as competition  , but rather as great reinforcement. As well as Reading Bear, Preschool Prep. They all compliment each other wonderfully!

What I personally like about Little Reader is daily (!) customizable 1 year curriculum, which is never the same.

Unlike the DVD which is always the same (regardless how great it is), you can play the same Little Reader lesson and it will show words in different font, color with different voices and accompanying pictures. You can even add your own to the existing ones -- your own pictures, your own voice! So in addition to having a full 1 year curriculum, you actually can replay each day lesson it it will be like totally different presentation. For my children -- it was absolutely the key!

And yes, we do supplement it with DVDs of other programs, hands on activities, printables, games! Making learning fun is the key for children in this age group, and having structured excellent curriculum definitely was the key for me -- it helped me to be consistent and to make steady progress, building on it! Especially since I have two children under three and expecting a number three very soon!

Odd though, I took a look at our support ticketing system and found only one message from you aiden01, and it was regarding "not being able to install Little Reader". It was replied to by Kezia as well, but we haven't heard back from you regarding this issue.
