Little Reader crashes in Multisensory

Hello,
My Little Reader stops working when it enters the Multisensory section (Session 1-B) and it reaches the first animation. There is no particular error message, just the standard Windows error message to say the program has stopped working.

Please see attached the diagnostic report. I've tried reinstalling the program, but it still occurs. I'm using Windows 7.

Hi Hamsalad,

There may be a lot of things that could cause this, and the most common cause is a codec problem. Please try our suggestions in this particular topic and see if it helps: http://forum.brillkids.com/little-reader-bug-reports/pronunciation-audio-getting-cut-off-please-see-here/
(I recommend doing the very first suggestion on updating your computer's codec, and if it still doesn't work you may try the other suggestions)

Can you kindly tell us when LR crashes (which lesson/s were you playing when it crashed), or if you've installed any new software before this happened.

In the meantime, please try uninstalling LR and then installing the latest version (v 1.6.342), which you may download from your Account page.
To uninstall Little Reader, please follow these steps:
 - From your Start Menu, open your Control Panel
 - Go to "Programs," then click on "Programs and Features"
 - Select "BrillKids Little Reader" and click on the Uninstall button
 - Follow the prompts to finish uninstalling Little Reader

** When asked if you want to remove additional data (playlists, playback history, etc.), please DO NOT check/select any of the boxes in this screen. Otherwise all of your Little Reader playlists, lessons, and even the ones you've previously created or downloaded will be deleted permanently.

After uninstalling, download the installer for the latest version of LR from your Account page (http://www.brillkids.com/user/#software-systems/little-reader/index) -- if you've downloaded this already, you don't have to download again.

Do let us know if this helps. Meanwhile, we'll look at your Diagnostic Report and get back to you again once we figure out a more specific solution.

Hi Kezia,

I've tried the suggestion with the codec - both installing and uninstalling and the problem still occurs. I've also downloaded the latest version 1.6.342 and installed it. I've also tried some of the other suggestions but no luck.

LR is crashing during Lessons 1 until Lesson 4 (that's the only one's I've tested it with) on sessions 1 and 2. I've recently installed Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.0 and it had been working previously but I hadn't used it for awhile so I can say what exactly might have changed. My computer has a reasonable spec; 2 GB RAM, plenty of disc space and a Windows Experience Index of 5.4 and I don't have any problems with anything else.

Hi Chris,

Please try repairing your .NET Framework -- it seems that a faulty .NET Framework is causing the frequent LR crashes.

You may refer to this Support article for instructions on how to do this:

After doing this, try opening LR and see if the problem was fixed.

Hi Kezia,

Sorry, it's still not working - I've installed the latest .NET Framework, repaired the Framework Client and reinstalled LR, with reboots after each change.

I'm still having problems at the same point when the video starts. I've attached another diagnostic report after doing the above changes.

It seems that your problem may be a unique issue, and we'd like to suggest doing a TeamViewer session with you. This way we can use a program to "visit your computer" and do the necessary troubleshooting and fixes for you.
