FAQ - Downloading and Auto-Importing using Internet ExplorerWhen downloading Little Reader content from the File Downloads area, the process is slightly different depending on which browser you use. With Internet Explorer, you may encounter an additional security measure that needs to be accepted in order for downloaded files to be imported into your Little Reader.
How to Download Little Reader Content using Internet ExplorerTo download a file, simple click on the FILE DOWNLOADS link on the top navigation bar of our forums.
• This will allow you to choose one of our free download formats. Simply click on the folder with the file type that you want to download.
On the next screen, choose between downloading English files or Foreign Language files.
• On the next screen, you will see a list of all available downloads in the category you have chosen. To download, just click on the DOWNLOAD button which corresponds to the file.
• If you would like to know more about the file before you download, simply click on the filename (instead of the download button) and you will be taken to a separate page where you can see all the words that is included in the file, along with a few other details about the download. When the file meets your approval, press the DOWNLOAD button, and the download process with begin.
How to Auto-Import Little Reader Content using Internet ExplorerWhen your download begins, a dialogue will ask you whether you want to Open the file immediately upon downloading, or save it to a location in your computer. To auto-import, click Open.
• Once your selected file has completed its download, a dialogue will pop up telling you "A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer". To continue the auto-import process, you must click Allow to let Little Reader access your download.
• Sometimes, after getting the above alert, your Little Reader may display an error window with the message "Invalid File Type":
This is a known issue with Internet Explorer and we are working hard to see if this can be rectified - for the time being, if this error occurs in your Little Reader, you can solve the problem by:
a) Re-downloading the file via the same process (make sure you don't wait too long after getting the alert before you continue with the auto-import), or
b) Re-downloading the file by clicking Save, and then manually importing the file in Little Reader using the Import function or by double-clicking on the file.
