Before you start Little Reader, please make sure you have additional Language Packs installed for the language you want to create a Category in.Click on this link for further information on How To Install Additional Language Packs. 1. After you have installed the desired Language Packs, start Little Reader.
2. Click on the
Word Library button.
3. In the Display panel, click on ‘
Categories’ instead of ‘Playlists’.
4. At the bottom of the left hand column, find and click on the
+ NEW button.
5. A new Category is now created with its name highlighted. You may now type in the name of your new Category.
Note that Little Reader only supports
ENGLISH Category names (e.g. “Colours of the Rainbow (Japanese)”)! Press ENTER on your keyboard. Your Category is now created!
Now you can add Words to your new Category! 1. In the middle column of the Word Library, click on
+ NEW.
2. Fill in the File name and Word. Note that the File name must be in
ENGLISH, but the Word can be in any language!
e.g. File name: colour_red_japanese
Word(s): 赤 3.
Add a pronunciation file: - Under the Pronunciation panel, click
+ NEW .
- In the window that pops up, locate the file on your computer and click Open.
- To preview the file that you have added, click on the
PLAY button.
Note: Files supported are
.mp3,
.wav and
.wma.

Add a picture file: - Next to the Pictures panel, add pictures by clicking
+ NEW.
- In the window that pops up, locate the file on your computer and click Open.
- To add more, repeat steps.
Note: Files supported are
.jpg,
.bmp,
.gif and
.png.

To add Video files: - Next to the Videos panel, add videos by clicking
+ NEW.
- In the window that pops up, locate the file on your computer and click Open.
- To add more, repeat steps.
Note: Typical files supported are
.avi,
.mpg,
.mpeg,
.mp4,
.flv,
.swf and
.wmv.

To add Picture Audio: - Next to the Picture Audio panel, add picture audios by clicking
+ NEW.
- In the window that pops up, locate the file on your computer and click Open.
- To preview the file that you have added, click on the
PLAY button.
- To add more, repeat steps.
- If you have added a video file and would like the Picture Audio to be played instead of the video sound, tick “Override video sound”.
Note: Files supported are .mp3, .wav and .wma.
7. When you have added all your media to the Word, click
SAVE at the bottom of the window.
