Our First Week With LR!

Hi everyone!

Bought LR to bring my little boys speech on, read a lot of the recommended FAQ'S, survival techniques, maunual, getting started etc etc but was looking to get some answers and maybe experiences from other users of LR!

So far we have just played about 2 days of lessons, I quite literally press the play button and after the word, multisensory and picture flashes play, we have been ending the lesson there. When tho do I start to introduce the phonics flashes, word charts and books that came with the deluxe set?

It is all a bit overwhelming but very exciting at the same time! Feel as though I am spending a lot of time on reading the how to parts and very little time on the teachimg and interaction parts and being a working mummy, time is something i dont have much off (took me about half an hour to actually post this!ha!)

Also is there a contact number for this type of thing (instead of online support) for the UK?

Looking forward to getting any help!!??!

I thought the first week to ten days on LR were a bit dull and repetitive,  luckily my boy wasn't as fussy. It was probably just my impatience    The phonics on LR pop up after the picture flash on day 20. You can start phonics at anytime, beginning with teaching how each letter sounds. With or without LR resources.  Try to get involved during the multi sensory, clown around, do the actions, have some fun. It will help the learning stick. I don't have the other products so I cant give you specific advice on them.

Thanks for ur feedback!good to know how others are using the resources!clowning around is also fun so I'm sure that will keep my little ones attention!

Hopefully someone else who has the books etc can guide me on the use of those resources too!anyone??!!...

It took my son a while before he warmed up to LR. I thought I would not survive the lessons ....
I took a break here and there..and one day..it just clicked!! He just asked for it again and again.

Have you read the two booklets - Teaching your baby to read, and teaching your baby with Little Reader?

Those are pretty resourceful.
