I uploaded first translated Little reader file -Animals. Sorry for the background noise, I have tried several mikes, but that is the best I could get. If you think this is good enough, please, let me know, I could translate more.

  It's the weekend in her part of the world. Rather I should say I forgot it was Saturday where she is yesterday and today is Sunday. That's why she hasn't been on!

The humming sound you hear seems like a connection issue between your mic and your computer.  I presume you are plugging your mic into the back of your computer? It could be that there's a lot of 'electrical noise' from the computer that's being picked up by the mic, in which case changing mics will not make much difference.

do you have a "line in" jack in addition to the "mic" jack?  If so, you could try that instead.  The recording will come out really soft, but you can adjust that through sound editing later on.  You can send it to us (attach it here) and we'll adjust the levels for you if so.

Sorry for dumb question, but what is line-in? I'm using a laptop, it has a built-in mic at the top of the screen, is that it? Anyway, I tried that one too, but it still has humming and plus it's very soft.

Ah, I see.  So just to clarify, the voice recordings you made where there's a humming sound were made using your laptop mic above the screen?

And you've also tried connecting an external mic to the mic jack that's on one of the sides of your computer, and it's still the same?

If so, it seems like your computer's sound card is faulty (you should complain! ), and unfortunately, I can't think of anything else you can do apart from using a different computer...

By the way, i wanted to say that Felicity is a miracle! I saw her reading on YouTube when my daughter was just born and she inspired me sooooo much, that i started searching and reading everything about early education and reading, which obviously led me here Thank you for raising such a great child, sharing your success with others and helping other to achieve marvelous results!

I really hope so, KL. Thank you! I am trying to teach her 3 languages at the same time: English, Russian and Farsi, and two more a bit later - Arabic and Spanish. That's why I really appreciate Little Reader, which makes it so much easier! Hope we can continue using it!

Farsi? What language is that? The only times I've heard the name of this language was during general knowledge quizzes when they would give a list of funny-looking words and asked the contestants which ones were a language!

Farsi is the Iranian language, isn't it? And it uses Arabic letters, right? Apart from that, the two languages aren't similar though.
