Hi BEM, the words you mentioned ("horse" and "dog") do come with two types of videos - one is animated (cartoon), and the other is a real video (i.e., actual animals)
The real videos are in *.avi format. If those particular videos don't work for you (e.g., the slide just appears blank, or LR crashes when you reach the video slide), there may be a missing or corrupted codec in your computer that's preventing you from playing avi videos.
Please confirm if you are able to play other avi videos in your computer. If avi videos play fine in your computer but not the ones in LR lessons, do let us know by writing to us at support[at]brillkids[dot]com. Kindly include a diagnostic report when you write to us so we can troubleshoot immediately.

Hi Mario, the real videos only come with words from specific categories like the action words (including hand actions / motions), parts of the body, animals, and transportation categories.
For words that have multiple videos in them (like 1 or 2 animations and 1 real video), LR plays a random video from those that are attached to a word, and a different video is played the next time that word appears in the lesson. You can also check or preview the videos from any word by going to Play & Edit > Categories and then selecting the specific word that you'd like to preview.
