hi i have just install LR  and i want to teach arabic and i didnt find any ready arabic lessons   when i click on courses its english?and  i found only  some from down laods not byLR
by the way my computer has two language  and i try to do     what is mintioned about having additional langauge pack?

ithougth that there is arabic version of LR BUTit seems its only lessons from down loads froms member  and its free or  cuts from loyality points

Dear Ketty Rain,

What sort of lessons did you want to see?  or just an Arabic translation of BK English curriculuum? And the whole issue of diacritics comes to mind as well.  I think an option to teach with and without would be best.

i mean there is no arabic lesson on course its only english and all the arabic only from down laods that member adds which some time has no sound ( pronounciation)
so what do you do to teach your chidren arabic?do you create your own lesson or edit LR english lesson and how cause itried to do some editing but cant delete the origional recorded sound which is english cause i want my arabic sound ?
for the writing i just delete and put arabic ones

Dear Ketty Rain,

At the moment, I am focusing on teaching the girls with al-Qai'da Nooraneeyah.  I uploaded Noorani Lesson 1 - The Arabic Alphabet (for Qur'anic reading) that will help with Modern Standard Arabic.

And once we get through Lesson 2 - The Combined Letters, it will be easier to show Nohayo's Arabic LR sets, in which we will name each letter and then pronounce the Arabic word (without tashkeel at this point), and English word also.  I will have my husband record the sound clips and attach them to the original wordfile in Nohayo's category listing.  Also, inside of the playback settings; and just "move up" the sound clip that you want to be heard during playback.

I would recommend saving as an mp3 file because it is about 1/10 the size of a .wav file.

I will probably edit LR files in order to help others who want the same English content in the Arabic language.  It is easy for you to type in Arabic; as for me I have to ask my husband to type it for me, or use google translate or something to convert the English text to the correct Arabic text and it is usually without tashkeel/diacritics.  Or copy/paste the words as I find them.

 i teach my child accoring to doman method  cards with out picture and she know now 300 words and i start to teach her the alphapets now but i depend on my file which is in free arabic down loads  to teach her words with the picture
but now i installed LR .and try to translate the english lessons  but still not knowing much!!!!about recording and typing my files
i wish to help with the sound after awhile and i will upload it

Dear Ketty Rain,

Have you read How to Teach Your Baby to Read, 40th Anniversary Edition?  Because initially, we begin with a list of 200 words and then combine those words to make about 50 couplets to cycle through over 28 - 30 days.  And then you begin with phrases (3 words), and then sentences of 4 words; 5 words; 6+ words.  It is a building block process. 

I am uncertain how to set up Arabic because I am not fluent in it enough.  The challenges with Arabic are the masuline/feminine; singular/plural/dual versions of each word.  I suppose you would create a list of 200 word list according to their grammar/spelling:  singular masuline word list, singular feminine word list; plural masculine word list, plural feminine word list; etc; and then each set would be used to create couplets/phrases/sentences/books, etc.  You would use the variations of the same words for the word list according to the grammatical function - singular/plural; fem/mas; etc. 

I will call IAHP ask ask them about this because I am curious about it myself.

now i start  teaching verb but its confusing for child
my problem is iam a woprking mom i dont have time
also no arabic material enough
also i want to  translate the english lesson in LR course(which i have alredy 130 lesson) but it has no option for editing  i can only edit  the down load and that is it ?
also i want to create new LESSON but need picture from LR but idont know how to add or use other lesson(english)picture
i have down load most of nohayo file which she has done a nice material thanks to her. but i  have some idea for her and any body who wants to add file:
try to use  font type (times new roman ) from playback setting bec it rally clear for child.
the letter al yaa (ي)الياء
better to differniate it from )alaf maksorah)ى

Hmmm - perhaps KL can help us with the editing LR First Course curriculuum.

Also, to add a new lesson, you would need to create a category:

When adding words in the category, you can record your own pronunciation; add picture files; add soundclips (I use mp3's); and/or video clips.  The files would be located on your hard drive.  To use the BrillKids media files, some are located at My Computer > Documents > BrillKids > Little Reader > Media Files (images).  I am not sure about the soundclips. 

And then for the Daily Lessons, you create a playlist that is based on the words in any category/playlist files:
