Baby not overly interested in LR

Hi my baby is 11mths and we've been doing LR for a month or so...she does not seem at all interested in the multi sensory section of LR and I've sped this section up so as not to bore her.  She doesn't seem to mind the wordflash, pictureflash or pattern phonics section, I'm guessing because its over and done with quickly.

I'm just running out of ideas and I don't want it to be a chore for her.  She's losing interest in the YBCR dvds too except for when the songs come on.  She loves Baby Signing Time...I really want her to have fun with LR, is there any way I could encourage her to like it more?  I tried doing up Doman flashcards but she got bored with them, I think I wasn't flashing her quickly enough so the LR flashing has worked great in that regard.

Any others who have had similar issues?  Would love any help/tips....Thanks!

First of all, remember babies go through stages. So while they may be more interested in one method of learning at one time, later it  might change.

Secondly, I am wondering - does your baby has TV/other media exposure? For example in the households where babies exposed to lots of background TV, it is pretty common for babies to start loosing attention to more "simple" things, like flashcards, pictures as opposed to sophisticated action and graphics in TV...

Also at about 8-11 months babies learning how to crawl/walk and it is huge developmental stage for them, which might take all their attention - discovering newness of true mobility.

Another thing, keep it simple and fun. Don't feel like you always have to follow your plan, if you feel your baby would rather do something else, flow with that and do LR or flashcards later, or even tomorrow. Keep it fun! Do lots of interaction. At this age babies crave for interaction with parents, so take an active part in lessons. When the word "crawl" comes on the screen, read it excitedly yourself, then crawl and invite your baby to do it together with you, and proceed to the next word! Show how excited you are to read the words together.

Take a little break may be and then start with some words that your baby likes, personalize lessons...

These are just some of the ideas that helped me at different times.

Hi!  Thank you for the tips, I'll definitely take them onboard.  No she isn't exposed to much television at all...she is only exposed to YBCR and Baby Signing Time and even that is kept to a bare minimum...once a day.  Thanks again.

Baby James is 6 months old and has been doing LR for 4 days and he is not interested in multi sensory section (he always looks away) but he really likes the rest of the session. At the moment I just doing the trial version but I am really question myself if I will buy the whole package or not. Is it worthy?

Hi Arantxa, at this point I've skipped the multi sensory sections completely or adjusted the speed at which it is shown ie the fastest mode.  She tolerates it this way and I think enjoys LR overall.  I think it has been worth it, I've also purchased LM which she seems very interested in.  Goodluck!

It's interesting to note that she's prefers the flash parts more than the multisensory parts. Usually what I hear is the opposite.

And that just goes to show (again) that all children are different, so there's no fixed rule for any of this, and we should improvise according to the child's response.

Also note that your child may behave very differently at a different age.  We've heard before from some parents that the child was not interested in the first year, but loved it when the child turned 2, or vice versa.  So you might want to try the M/S sections again a few months (or even a year) later and see if there's a difference.

My son also barely tolerates the multisensory session. Apart from the animal sounds    

He has never shown any interest in YBCR either. The only things he really watches are Little Pim & Wink to Learn.

I think it might be that he is still very right brain dominant and likes things FAST
