There are menu options for both traditional and simplified characters for Baby Learns Chinese. So you can show either one. You also have the option of showing English subtitles for vols 4-6, which will be helpful for non-Chinese parents.

Though I am Belgian and my wife is Indonesian we live and work in Taiwan. After 15 years here I speak a fair amount of Mandarin and can read and write it as well, though not that well. My wife is relatively new to Taiwan and speaks only Cantonese which is of no use in Taiwan. We both speak our respective mothertongues (Dutch and Bahasa Indonesia) to our 3 month baby boy and he seems to notice the difference. All in all we are the least interested in an English program as anyway you look at it it is a very easy language to learn. Our interest is in other languages.

We are looking to a good program in Mandarin, that introduces only traditional characters. You will not believe it but they are almost impossible to find or not what we are looking for here in Taiwan.

Why only traditional Chinese?As one person here already commented. If you can read and write the traditional characters you can almost surely read and understand the simplified forms. Learning only simplified forms puts your child at a huge disadvantage as a lot of writings, even in Communist China, on buildings, temples and monuments and in old books are traditional characters. The Hong Kong government insists its population keeps learning traditional characters.

So we are excited to read you might have a Chinese program by the end of the year.

Are there any plans for a structured complete Arabic set?

Good on you Gert for teaching Dutch to your baby  Most Belgians speak French and English really well and might not 'pass on' Dutch to their kids. (here's my little complain to my Dad who did not 'bother' teaching us.) It must be said though than it is harder to find material (books dvd etc) in Dutch when overseas.

I agree with you for traditionnal Chinese.
I know this curriculum will be immensely popular with the BK members.

Well, if we rush the Chinese curriculum we could probably squeeze it out this year, but we don't really want to do that. Likely to be early next year.

As for Little Musician, it's taking shape, but there are still some things I want to do with it before releasing beta, and I'm not sure how long that would take, so it's hard to give an estimate now.  We're working hard at it though!

Hi! Sorry for the late reply!

Chinese curriculum was already released in Singapore. We are waiting for some modifications to be done to our online store first before releasing it online.  We also decided to tweak the curriculum further first before releasing it.  We hope to get it out by the end of July.

Also hope to get a beta of Little Musician out within the next 2 months. We are getting close.

Yes, our intention is to allow qualified users to use points to redeem at least partial discounts for those items.

That's great news KL.  Can't wait for the release.  How are the Singaporeans going with Traditional Chinese?  Are we able to modify the lessons to insert simplified characters in?

Actually, the curriculum is simplified Chinese. We will release a traditional chinese version soon after.
