Colloquial Vs. Classic?

I was wondering, with a language that has differences in classic writing and colloquial (depending on the country...Egyptian Arabic is different from the Gulf, different from Sudan...etc), should we keep the words in the playlists and categories classic because that is how we want them to read?

Colloquial is only spoken, so a child will be exposed to that a lot in everyday interactions, so do we need to have that occaisional playlist in colloquial or is it better to keep the reading to the classic and the colloquial to the spoken?

What are your thoughts on this?

Personally, I would have both.

What I found was that these reading programs actually helped Felicity a lot in learning to speak.  So you could have the colloquial sessions more with the aim of exposing your child to learning to speak - the more they hear something (and understand it), the more they will speak it. In this case, you can look at it that one "side-effect" of learning how to speak it is that they may also recognize the words for it! (but I think that's a 'side effect' that's not a problem having!)

I was just scared that that way the child won't be able to distinguish between the classic and colloquial...or that they would be talking in classic  I've seen a friend's child who does that because he watches cartoons in classic arabic...but come to think of it maybe it is no big deal either way because they will grow out of it as they get older I guess and then you'll have had the advantage of teaching them early anyway....
