Downloading and Installing Little Reader - How easy was it for you?

Mine downloaded very easily, can't give you the details of what I used, but did have a screen pop up telling me I had to buy winrar (or something!!!) I just closed it and continued. 
 Will this cause me any problems?

That's strange.

The reason it is asking for Winrar (or an unzip program) is cos the download file is in .zip format.  Windows vista and xp can unzip it w/o anything else, by just double clicking on it (it's like opening a Windows folder).

What windows version are you using, and did you manage to install it in the end?

Do you have a trial version of winrar? If you do, and that's the program you used to unpack it, then a pop up to buy will come up, but you can click cancel and it will still unpack it. That sounds to me like what happened.

I have winrar, not zip, to unpack all of my files. So even if they are zipped, winrar still unpacks them.

  Yeah, I'm not sure what happened but it worked in the end so it's all good! Will wait 'til Technical Support (ie husband) gets in and will ask him what we have!

Downloading was easy except for the part that I have to install the microsoft net. Will try out Little Reader with my 17 month old son tomorrow. He's sleeping now. Looks exciting for me.

The good news about .net is that now that you've downloaded it, you'll never need to download it again for any of our future products!
(also, if you use Vista next time you also won't need to download it.)

I downloaded and installed on vista system.  It was very easy I and I had absolutely no problems!

Well, I just got a new laptop today. It has Vista on it (the first time I have had Vista on a computer). Downloading and installing went fine. So did exporting and transfering my CATs and PLs. It's a miracle Lappy!

I downloaded and installed the little reader on my Windows xp and it was no trouble at all. !

I downloaded and installed the 1.04 version without any problems. I'm just starting to 'play' with it, seems like a fantastic tool  for teaching the kiddos. Thank you so much! 
In the about five times I've had the program running, it totally froze on me a couple of times, the second time it was after I 'reorganized' the categories and wanted to continue creating more playlists.

Did you get a big red X?  Were there any error messages? If so, please write them down or take a screen shot if you encounter it again.

The Folder system was recently added in 1.04 and is still buggy, and we need all the help we can get from all of you to identify and nail the bugs! Thanks!

Re. my computer freezing while using the Little Reader, there were no error messages, a few red X's in place of some windows and than I found a file called error log that keeps saying:
Enter Main
Create Licensing
ClearSettingsFirstRun
Enter Main form
DeleteCompatibilyFileInVista
Initialize component
Initial panel set
initial
load database
SetAbsoluteFilePathRelease
If first run set absolute path
end constructor

Not sure it helps (I'm using Windows XP), but maybe you'll make some sense out of it. The comp keeps freezing at least once a day and it doesn't seem to have a specific 'trigger' point.

ah, the big red X problem! This was reported in another thread. Hopefully we've solved it already for beta 1.05!

i use Microsoft XP and it automatically unzipped the folder.

installing the file was as easy as 1,2,3 from then onwards.
