Importing lots of stuff

If I am importing lots of categories, I don't want to keep going to the word library after each one and then back again to the import/export...is there some way we can do this?

why are you even going to the import screen to import? Just click on the Download file and run it! (eg. if it's on your hard drive, just double click on it!) It will auto-import!

basically, the only real use of the import/export screen now is for exporting. You never really have to touch it again for importing.

  but KL that still doesn't solve the problem...or does it? If I double click the files themselves, they won't open one by one?

And do I have to have little reader open?

Hi Noha!

They will open one by one and import one by one too.  You don't even need to have Little Reader open for this - you can just double click on a category file that you have just downloaded and it will automatically open Little Reader for you and begin the import process.

Thanks Lappy and KL for this extra tip I didn't know I could do that !

The thing is, it still doesn't solve my problem in one aspect;
sometimes, if I am importing lots of categories at once, it helps if I can for example import them all together
or
if I can stay on the same page (if from inside little reader) or folder without switching between little reader and the folder I'm importing from (if I'm importing using the tip u guys just gave me) .... and not go back and forth

I hope my question was clear this time  Is this kind of option possible?

OK, here's a tip:

let's say you are importing many Categories from your Windows Explorer, or from the File Downloads section (via your browser). What you're saying is that you don't want LR to keep popping up after import, right?

If so, very simple. Drag and move LR all the way to the corner of the screen until only a small part of LR is showing. Now, your screen mainly shows your Windows Explorer or Browser, and LR popping up will not obscure them anymore.  So now you can happily click away!

Not the most elegant of solutions, but I believe should get the job done!
