For those of you who are translating the curriculum

Do you have a routine which would help me gain time? E.g. when you record your voice, which title to you give to the file, do you create new folders for every category?

This is a good question.  I have a similar one that perhaps BK can help us with.  Ketty Rain wants to translate the 1st Course Curriculuum into Arabic via editing the existing playlists/lessons.

The current LR is not designed for translation to other languages, so no option is going to be very efficient.  Future versions of LR will allow creation of your own curriculum.

Until then, you will need to make do with using Playlists as a substitute for the Course/curriculum section, which will function the same except without certain features like the green completion bubbles.

You'll also need to have your own foreign language Categories, which you can create your own, or 'convert/translate' from the existing English ones.  Best way to do that is to export the Category you want to translate, then import it back, and choose "rename" in the conflict options during import.  After renaming them, then change the words and pronunciations to the foreign language version, and link the playlists to these new files.

how i can use LR picture so i can create my own lessons?when i click on picture editor it ask me about picture sotred on computer?i mean only i can found sound clips from library so is there any way i  can use only the picture which is used in LR LESSONS

Dear Ketty Rain,

There should be another folder for LR images.  On my laptop with Vista, I can find them:

Documents > BrillKids > Little Reader > Media Files > and mine has images, mp3, flash

Also - there are some vocabulary lists by category here that I will probably just copy/paste into LR:

and more categories on left-hand side of the screen.
