Can a non-native french speakers help with speeding up the process?
Yes, anyone one familiar with LR can help, actually!
Some basic knowledge of French would come in useful but even that is not essential.

Just another question about the French (and Spanish) curriculums. Will they include translations for non-native speakers? Not just of the word being flashed but also of the comments being made about the pictures and video footage. This would really help to make it more interactive for those of us who are not fluent in the language.

I'm afraid the first round of curricula (including French and Spanish) will not have translations built in. Built-in translations is planned for a future version of LR.
In the meantime, what we are planning to release is just printout sheets that you can refer to during lessons. We'll do English translation printouts for Chinese first and hopefully can have them done and released at the same time as when we release the French and Spanish curricula.
