Are you running Windows 7? I think there's a Display option where you can choose your primary desktop monitor and then choose the other one to be secondary.
(Btw, I agree with you on needing 2 monitors.

Try following this path:
Start > Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Display > Screen Resolution
If you have two (or more) monitors connected, I think you can select which one you want to have your program and which one it will play on. You can also switch these by trial and error, I think.
