Hi,
After reading the other threads on how to easily retire words, I have been thinking about what Pupisek said (about using LM to teach words and words only - no pictures)...and I remember one thing. The way we currently create our files, with a cat. of related words followed by the pictures, is actually called "BITS" in the Doman method....and it's a kind of EK. For strict word teaching, we just flash the words continuously.
So instead of using LM, I think we can use category for what it's supposed to be - BITS. Then we can use playlist to set up daily files....e.g. I will name a playlist 3/23 - set 1, 3/23 - set 2, etc...another playlist 3/24 - set 1, etc.... Assuming you have passed the first week 15 showings, then the content of 3/24-set 1 will be the last 4 words of 3/23 - set 1 PLUS one new word. Each day, you just edit the playlist to incl. a new word.
However, there is an additional feature I'd like to see to make this work more smoothly. Right now, when I create a new cat. I would be typing the words as I think of them. when I want to re-arrange the orders, I have to create a playlist, then pick the words from that cat. and arrange them. I think it would be of great benefit if we could do this within the cat. This way, I just have to play the cat. directly, leaving the playlist strictly for "word-teaching" purposes...so I don't have many similar .cat and .pl sitting around.
I know the way I wrote is confusing. I hope someone can understand and tell me if this makes sense.
