Hello skeptic
I understand your skepticism. It is a rather left of the middle idea, teaching babies to read. For years educators have been telling us it just isn't possible ( they still are) and listing reasons why not to! Well the proof is everywhere, it does work. You can teach babaies to read and there really isn't a good reason not to. For the record I am a qualified early years teacher and I believe in this stuff
Oh and I am really hard to convince, I do ALOT of research to get to the point of enthusiasm for advanced early learning.
So what next? Put it on your computer and play it daily until you run out of lesson to show ( thallium be next year! ) that's all you need to do. Show lessons when buns is in a good mood, be enthusiastic, don't expect your child to demonstrate that they are taking it in. Testing them adds pressure and kids just don't perform well under pressure. Let them absorb it all and when they are ready they will show you what they know. My son won't always show me what he has learnt but when I am least expecting it he will read a word card or a book.
You have 2 children right? Your youngest may need to see the words on a bigger screen than the computer, see if you can get a cable to play the words on the TV screen.
You need to have some faith and give it a red hot go. You will enjoy the results and remember they are learning much more than reading too. Vocabulary and understanding are lovely bi products of little reader.
