Locking parts of LR?

My 5 year old son likes spending time on computers very much.  (This is one reason LR is such a valuable tool.)  We spend time working with him, but there are times he wants to do it by himself.  The problem is that he likes to experiment too much, and he has a tendency to push new buttons to see what they will do. 

I am wondering if there is some way there could be an option to where LR could be locked in so that the child would not be able to re-program LR or other parts of the computer.  A thought being is there could be an access password for certain functions.  But there may be an easier answer that I am not aware of.

It's always great when children are inquisitive and like to explore!

LR can only be locked during playback, when banging on the keyboard won't interrupt play (by selecting "Auto-Forward" and "ESC key only" in the playback settings).

But seems like you're looking for more than that, which unfortunately is not available.  If you're afraid of your son messing up stuff when you're not around, then easiest thing would be to password-protect your screensaver.

What I ended up doing is create a username for my children and I put all their educational stuff and games on their user name so they cant mess up my computer but they can still use it. They can not make any permanent changes to the comp so it is much easier. Let me know if that works. good luck.
