LR Playback Question

Hi There,

I did a search and looked through the FAQ and didn't find the answer to this question (although I'd bet it's been asked before)

I'd like to customize the playback settings for each Playlist (auto-forward, font etc). Is that possible in LR?  If so, can you direct me to the instructions?

Ok, maybe this is a bug (I knew I wasn't crazy).  When I import a file, then click on the Playback Icon, the "Save" "Save as Default" etc. Icons are no longer available.   But if I click on the Home icon, then on the Playback Settings link, then I can see the Save Settings.

FYI.  (This is LR Home Basic 1.2.118)

As for the "Save"/"Save as Default" bug, I'm unable to reproduce anything abnormal on my PC, but I'm also unsure what you meant when you said the buttons were no longer available.  Did you mean the buttons were greyed out, or that they had disappeared altogether?  Could we kindly ask you to list out step-by-step how you are encountering the bug?

Yes of course.

- Import a file into LR.
- Click on Playback icon
- See that all the Save buttons are missing (not grayed out)

I'm familiar with customizing playbacks through my work with LM and Little Reader Lite. I couldn't find the buttons in LR Home Basic, until I realized it was a bug.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if you can't duplicate the issue.

I did a little bit of tinkering with LR this morning and just want to clarify -

Is it possible you imported a .cat file, so that when you went to the PLAYBACK screen you were viewing Categories rather than Playlists?  The Save and Save As buttons only appear when viewing Playlists (as only Playlists are able to invoke customised playback settings).

However, even when doing so, I clicked on the HOME icon and then clicked back to the PLAYBACK screen and I remained under the Category list (thus the SAVE/SAVE AS buttons still had not returned), so I'm wondering whether this is the same thing you're experiencing.

Rest assured we'll get to the bottom of this though!

YES! That's exactly what happened. I was able to duplicate the 'problem' and then saw that I was in Categories. When I click over to playlists the buttons are there as they should be.

Thank you for helping me - the problem was between the keyboard and the chair!
