M audio keyrig 49 keyboard - does anyone know why I cant make it work?

I mhoping someone out there can help me as I have sourced a MAudio Keyrig 49 keyboard locally as it was slightly cheaper to buy it in this country and the pianowizard package seperately.

Anyway I understood that it was simply a question of 'plug and play' Only mine wont - I plugged it in and turned it on the lights came on but no sound.

Then I tried to instal the software disc to find a microsoft warning message that the software hadnt passed windows logo testing.So I stopped doing that as I dont want to risk damage to my computer. Am now really confused as to what to do next  The M-Audio website says that this will happen and its ok - but Id appreciate some reassurance from anyone who has this product and knows what theyre doing!!

Don't worry about the logo testing.  It won't damage your computer, Windows is just looking for a verification(probably something developers have to pay Bill Gates for that does essentially nothing).  Mine installed fine after that.

ok so I got brave and Ive installed the software.

But it still womt work - no sound from the keyboard at all - lights on - but nothing else - have been fiddling with this all day on and off and am starting to loose the will.

I know Im not very bright when it comes to these things but if this is easy then Im even dimmer than I thought I was -plse can someone help
 

 -Ive just tried to get help from the manufacturer to discover that will cost me yet more money 

Will be grateful for any help before I package the whole lot up and send it back!!!

ok so now I feel really  stoooopid - have got it to work - even though I have no idea how!!!!

Sorry I did not see this thread earlier, we have dealt with keyboard/operating system sporadically for a long time, and it can be maddening when it simply doesn't work. Sometimes there is a driver conflict issue, sometimes the keyboard was dropped in shipping, sometimes you simply try a different USB port and it works. Most of the time it works fine with no problems, but when it doesn't you feel lost.

Even though you did not purchase this unit from us, if you have further problems, please contact Myko at [email protected] and ask for his help, he is great at trouble shooting, and might just give you one or two things that help resolve it for good.
